you probably already know this, but apparently i was told your suposed to leave a good 5mm gap from the laminet flooring and your walls, as it expands or something over time?

So just thought i'd let you know for you to keep it in mind, this topics actually very helpful as im going to be having laminet in my room soon, and ive got floor boards.

yeh, also keep it in the room you are going to have it for a few days prior to laying it, so it can adapt to the rooms conditions.

might as-well just say that i wouldn't have laminate in any room other than the kitchen and maybe bathroom.

my brother has it in his room and its aweful, really hard and echoy. looks nice thouhg but i'd rather have nice comfy warm carpet. (Y)

I've got laminate in my room now and I love it!! Makes a change from carpet plus makes the room really light and clean.

I've got a drum kit in my room as well (for sale btw) and I had to get some stuff that was more sound proof I think.

Why, whats wrong with it?

Adam

Cold, noisey (at night when you walk arouind and parents sleep in next room etc), find random dust balls everywhere, usually under my bed and behind the tv.

However, it is useful for;

- Moving wardrobes, tv's etc about on (big tv's anyway)

- Cleaning shit up off the floor

- Racing cats, byt throwimng them and seeing how far they slide.

Spose on second thoughts, it's not that bad, but the next flooring i have will be carpet, had laminate flooring for 4 years now (Y)

We've got it in our living room and I quite like it - it makes the room look really clean. But I guess it's pretty cheap laminate floor so it's chipping all over the place. I would say it would probably be worth spending a bit more and getting some decent stuff. Or a carpet :ermm:
