Simon
Don't bother. Every son and their dog is/has started a clothing "label". Unless you research it properly, and get proper advertisement and somehow re-invent your company and how designs are designed/printed, you and your "label" will be the same as any other, but with no history and just a box full of t-shirts, and a few sold, which were more then likely to friends and family. Hell, there's atleast 3 t-shirt companies just from this forum. You will be hard pushed to get a decent t-shirt quality, as well as decent printing, and then make profit, if any. Not sure if you class this as "proper point", but heh, just thought i would add my opinion on the matter. (Y)
trials_pimp
Im sure someone has started a clothing company, or we would all be naked right about now
James_Porter
im sure the people with embarrassing private parts would have found away to cover thier shame though lee...therefore only the dominant around us would be naked. gingers would just have to put a large tin can with all sharp edges filed down around thier privates cause we all know the saying about them being larger than life..."gingers dont fit condoms which come from the walk in clinic"

Heatsink
Hi, In my experience, T-shirts selling requires something extra special to make money. I don't think I'll be selling future lines once I've cleared my stock, simply because I've made a loss on mine - and that's with a concrete range of products behind rather than just a pretty design! I haven't really sold and my stock has only been reduced by those discounted/free ones for Team riders and numerous Trials competitions. To get Tees at a decent price without compromising on quality, you need to: 1. Settle on a design with ideally only one colour 2. Shop around alot! I didn't want to compromise on my Heatsink logo, but this meant screenprinting in 4 colours. (black, white, yellow, orange) I went for yellow Tees so that meant only 3 colours needed to be used, but for starters it was £20 to get a screen made for each colour. Plus I choose a really decent Tee to print on. Ontop of that you pay extra on the cost of each Tee for each of these colours to be printed. The result a Tee which costs me £12 to get made. If you look on my site you'll see that I'm selling these at no profit since anymore than this is too expensive. Since I've been through this loop myself, I can see how people like Gate8 make money. 1. Association with top pros 2. Alot more capital to go out and make bulk orders in a variety of designs 3. One colour prints, often not on the best quality Tees - result each Tee costing around £5 to make 4. Funky designs 5. Sell Tees at £20 each!! Another thing to bear in mind - Buying clothes over the net always has the stumbling block of being sure that they'll fit. Amazingly I notice that most "estblished" stores give no indication on what Medium, large etc actually mean (Medium in one size will be Large in another). Even with giving proper measurements as I've done, the doubt often remains in peoples mind, enough for them to hold back on ordering. It's a huge gamble with Tees because to get the prices really decent, you need to make a bulk order, and this will be a couple of hundred pounds worth at least. You've got to be really sure about it! Even if things look pretty promising, take my example as a warning! Steve
