BONGO
do you still ride trials? just wondering (soz if its been asked a million times) nah mate i began to have much more fun on my bmx when i put my front brake on and i decided to sell my trials bike and ride what i was having more fun doing. Learning seems more satisfying to me in bmx over trials, as you learn new tricks rather than the same move an inch higher etc etc. As far as trials went, i thought i had covered it all as far as moves went. i could pretty much do everything except hook, it was just a case of improving my heights and distances, which didn't compare with overcoming fear and learning whole new tricks in bmx. I still use a lot of my trials background i guess. It has definately shaped my technical side of my bmx, and general balance too i think. I'm definately glad i rode trials before bmx as i am totally where i want to be right now with my riding (Y) thanks for y'all comments everyone too :) john

Tomm
Its the only video off here that i've downloaded that doesnt work on this computer! everything else works fine! :P ← It's nothing to do with your video card in the slightest B) Try downloading Windows Media Player 10, other than that I don't know what to suggest really. But the video is a bit weird because it plays fine on my PC, but won't play on my Xbox for some reason (Like you it's about the only video that won't play) :P
Mark W
no i'm using standard chrom rims, a sunn big city on the rear, and an odyssey hazard lite on the front. I am using the Heatsink Vee's. They are amazing. I'm not going to lie and say they are more powerful than plazmatic V flies. The reason i ride these now rather than the plazmatics is because They have identical power, which as you know is immense, and as the backing is metal, they are much stiffer. You can still toe them in like plaz to stop the noise, but i just want on/off brakes for my type of riding, so i have them square at the moment. I rekon you can tell i'm not bullshitting you when i say they are f**king amazing. They DO NOT slip EVER. I wouldn't be able to do 90% of the stuff in the video without pads as good as these  john ← My friend Matt had some red Heatsink V's on his BMX, running them on a Big City too. They just melted away and wore to very little in less than a week, and came out of the backings whenever they thought they had a chance. Aside from the melting, coming out, and hideous volume of them, I didn't like them much just 'cos they were a bit too grabby, so manuals were a whore when you needed to scrub a bit of speed if you were going at pace. With your V-Flies, when you toed them in did they still lock 'n' stuff OK? Mine should be here tomorrow, as well as my new back wheel (Hazard Lite on Hazard hub). Are the Hazard Lites any good? I had heard they were, but have you noticed any long term problems? nah mate i began to have much more fun on my bmx when i put my front brake on and i decided to sell my trials bike and ride what i was having more fun doing. I can do all the stuff too, 'cept for hooking (and I never want to learn that), and it's just dull riding the same shit but just going an inch bigger each time or whatever. BMXing's just a shitload more fun, actually learning whole new techniques. As well as that, it's comfier to get places, and it's fun just going full bore at stuff. It's just a nice, refreshing change... Anyway, except for the pissing which kinda disturbed me, awesome vid!

(Y) My riding was just moving more towards that, and so I just thought I might as well do it proper. But nah, it wasn't just "inch up/across/down", it's just that with trials it's like once you've learnt the basics it's just applying them differently, which IS different to BMXing. Tomm
I know what you mean. Whenever I ride, I try new things rather than improve other things, generally. There is far more to trials than sidehop/gap though, especially when you try and style it up. There's plenty of moves I can't do (Still stuck on 180 ups), I'll be entertained for a few years to come I reckon. And then there's doing them the "wrong" way, then switch footed etc. And after that maybe I'll have to invent some new stuff.
