Mr Motivator
The monty urban stem feels fine but my bars come to a whooping 40" with it, which is quite high, and from looking at other peoples set ups it just doesnt seem right. Dont say "well you said the monty stem feels perfect" because even though it does, there must be something good about lower bars (Y) I will PROBABLY be getting an 05 control verrrry soon so want something thats going to accomodate the tiny +10bb Im quite a strapping lad at 6' 2" so require something with a little more meat on it, so something around the 110+ mark is a good start. So if you could recomend something thats gonna suit my needs and thats going to be nice and strong, that would be great. Oh yeah, also, it would be better if the bars were clamped in with a 4 bolt thing on the front of the stem. I had to bend open my monty stem to fit the riser bars through it because it was a 2 bolt that crimped together. Sam

AdamR28
Which bike was this stem on previously? Either way, I'd recommend not changing it until you know it's not gonna be right for your new frame - that way you can make a more informed decision as to which stem will feel better. JIX
I would recommend a thompson stem above any other, even though I dont really like the bolts. Light, stiff and strong and expensive. But worth it. They are available in all sorts of lengths and rise. I have a 110x0 degree on my 04 control. But I have a high headset and some spacers, so you could try the 10 degree one. Im shorter than you though. I think Im 5,
