Siders77
Hey, i've seen a rotor on E-Bay that I want. BUT i'm not sure if it will fit my Avid Juicy 7. It's a Hope Gothic rotor but it's 165mm and my Avid is 160mm. Will I need an adapter or anything? Cheers :'(
Swize
Errrm I am thinking you may just to need to move arround a few of the spaces out on the mounting bracket. Sam Edited August 12, 2005 by samthebiker

tipsy Jock
Yes you will need an adaptor ← I'm pretty sure if you fiddle with the spacers between the adapter and caliper it will work, add around 5mm's worth and see what happens :'( Pete

Doing anything with the spacers between the caliper and adapter on forks wont do anything atall! lol
philking
Unfortunately the smallest size adapter you can get is 10 mm i believe (i.e. needing a 20mm bigger rotor). You would need a 2.5 mm bigger adapter, which (unless i am mistaken) doesnt exist.

So surely if you whack 5 mm or so of spacers under the centering washers then it will move the caliper out enough for the rotor to fit. Longer bolts might be needed but it should work. If you look at an avid Brake you'll know what i mean, its not rocket science. Pete Edited August 12, 2005 by tipsy Jock

Also you would only need 2.5mm of spacers because the rotor is 2.5mm bigger all the way around, thus making the 5mm in total.

Does it fit against a flat block and that flat block fits against the forks? If so, yes it will work if you put 5mm worth of washers on :) (Y) :D"

Your right about the 2.5mm though, I was too busy trying to make the rest of it idiot proof to notice that lol (Y)
Dai the Socket
Phil's right. You can do that. More notable with the Avid disk. They come with a spacer set there rather than just bolts or whatever, highlighting how it's done (Y) You put them into the braket, which mounts onto your fork, not where it mounts onto your fork.
