But why call them queers? Are you saying that gay people are grumpy fools? That 'queers' are idiots?

thats just you associating the word queer with homosexuals , queer means strange .

i have done almost every form of mountain biking and respect them all ( even roadies )

but if one group within a certain discipline look down upon others , its not really fair . as i would fall into the " yob on a bmx category "

either way , they all sounded like grumpy old blokes whinging about people who commute on the pavements , we only went a few hundred feet

some people feel safer when riding on a path: old people could get scared when riding next to big lorries and fast cars.

some people aren't able to legally ride their bikes on a road: trials riders quite often don't even have a seat let alone reflectors.

some people aren't competant enough to ride a bike on the road: small children or people who have not been taught the highway code.

some people just find it easier: chav's never ride on a road.

so stop all this **** about how you feel angry about seeing people ride on the path when your on the road. You most likely are a roadie if you feel like this so you choose to do this as it's your "sport" so just stop whinging and go shave your legs, put on some lycra and go ride around on some roads for a while trying to convince yourself it's fun.

kris

Lycra sucks: there really is no need to make yourself look like a dick!

roadies suck: wow i just rode my bike along a road for a really long time, the adrenaline rush is immense (Y)

i love you

Since when have baseless insults been the answer to more insults?

As far as i can see theyre bothered that a few people cycling on the path gives the rest of them a bad image, we suffer from the same problem with the few twats who consider ploughing their bash into a stone wall a good way to spend an afternoon.

But then some off us arent amazing riderd and the bash helps out. The law needs changing, if you ride like a twat on the pavelment (hands up i do sometimes but then I know what Im doing) then you deserve it just like shit drivers but if your sesible I think you should be alllowed to ride on the pavements.

I dont think there was any need to say that on their forum, I happen to enjoy road riding.

road riding isnt as technical, but its good fun going fast under your own power.

I dont go as far as to shave my legs though, and I hate lycra!

they aren't baseless. they do wear lycra and they do shave their legs.

Yeah, that was a bit pointless. Road/XC can be fun, people wouldn't do it if it wasn't. I want a road bike

yeah but they were being all snotty on there talkin about idiot kids riding from one side of the road to another. basically bunnyhopping up a curb. have you ever done that. they were saying that was stupid and wreckless, my post wasn't even that offensive! (Y)

my post was fctually explaining many different viewpoints across, then i had a dig at the arrogant b*****d. no harm in that.

motorist are suppose to keep a 6 foot distance from the end of the cyclist bars (or something like that). if motorist aren't giving a 6 foot space then just cycle on the pavement cause it is to dangerous to cycle on the road.

I am.

Something to be proud of for you, obviously?

thats just you associating the word queer with homosexuals , queer means strange .

From the way you wrote the post, it seemed pretty obvious you didn't mean it in the "strange" sense, unless you temporarily forgot how to construct a sentence?

Yeah, really proved their stereotype of people on "trick" bikes and shit as being wrong. Clappy clap clap.

I hate riding street with people either grinding or going to bash, purely for that reason. It's loud, it's not nice to look at, not nice to do, and it just leads to people resenting riders more because of the damage being done. The rewards don't outweigh the negative consequences.

But then some off us arent amazing riderd and the bash helps out.

There's a difference between slipping to bash and just going to bash though. Most people I've ridden with have been able to not hammer their bash into a wall backwheeling stuff - if you get your feet down or just don't let it simply drop, you're usually safe?

Stage riding is pretty technical from a strategic and riding point of view.

love you too  :o

Don't try and disguise the fact you were trying to put them down because of what they do. If they feel they gain an advantage through wearing lycra, so what? For riding hard all day it is pretty comfy. Maybe they're happy enoug to just do what they enjoy without worrying what dickheads think about how they look? Some riders are f**king dangerous on the road. I've ridden with people before who don't actually seem capable of simply looking around them or planning lines ahead. Some people really are that shit, and they've probably seen someone who I'd categorise as 'sketchy' in terms of how they ride places.

Yeah, good f**kin' luck trying to argue that one in court. You realise they'd just laugh at you and still fine you anyway, yeah?

just tell them its not a bike, and ur just playing. they cant class it as a bike, just like a unicycle no fines for ridding one on the pavement, when i was small i got stopped on the road on my toy go cart(playing on the road by my house) but the police man couldnt do any thing he just told my rents not to let me do it again. as they was not law saying that a kid cant do it

i'm not havin a go so don't take this the wrong way but you just managed to argue the exact opposite of everything anyone said.

and i wasn't having a go at road riders in general but i was trying to piss off that one particular mardyarse on there and it worked as well. so needless to say there isn't going to be any more posts on there from me. I even wrote this as well to say sorry but it seems they have suspended my account name (quite understandably)

okay i was basically trying to piss this guy off by saying that about lycra and roadies.

I hereby apologise about any offense caused to anybody who comes under this category and have removed any such comments from my signature. I have recently come to realise what i said was ignorant and childish and i will not post anything like this in the future.

and in reply to other comments that have been made at me:

Anyway, I hope you're enjoying the holidays. Do you start big school next term?

yes i am goin to uni in a month

In my experience the people who are most anti-lycra are the types who could never get away with wearing it themselves! How many kilos do you tip the scales at krisboats?????

i'm 16 stone but 6'5" and no fat on me at all so i think although looking silly in lycra (again not meaning to cause any offense, just my personal opinion) i wouldn't look fat or bad in it.

kris

i am sorry for anybody i pissed off with this.
