jesus christ just buy a f**kin tensioner and stop being awkward.

whoa, someone needs to calm down. Ever thought i might be hard on cash? After buying a T-pro being advertised as 'mint' you dont expect to have to buy stuff for it. And living alone at the age of 17 doesnt exactly leave much spare cash.

christ.

Did you buy the t-pro new? The bike isn't really 'complete' without the chain tensioners, they should have been provided..

If you use the split link then it is just as strong as the rest of the chain. The kool chain split link is well designed. It has pins the same as the chain and a rather thick plate that takes all the stress. The problem is when you keep taking off the clip to undo the chain and then use it again. That is going to weaken the clip and thats why they can fall off.

If you take the split link off then get a new clip every time you rejoin it, then you wont have a problem.

If you join the chain using your chain tool, then it will never be as strong as the normal links, and not as strong as the split link.

I join my chain, but I paint the link I did so I always undo the same one, saves the other links from being weakened.

Or you could see it the other way, that continuously pushing a pin through a hole it doesnt wanna go through will keep making ithe hole bigger and bigger, and therefore weakening your chain even more.
