Chris Cook
Hi, just need some info on these hubs. Are they good for trials? Whats the engagement on them? Are they strong and/or light? Are they worth spending £30 on 1? Heres some info about it: The main attraction of these hubs is their strength: Oversized 15mm Chromoly axles (instead of 10mm), One piece high flange aluminium shell, Three pawl cassette mechanism, and Five sealed cartridge bearings, to keep them running very smooth however much you ride. The Free HUB body is made of hardened steel and is Shimano 8 and 9 speed compatible. Compatible with RockShox, Hayes, Magura, and Amp 3 bolt disc brake rotor configurations. Three bolt discs are made by most of the major disc brake manufacturers (HOPE said they make custom designed discs at no exrta cost). The rear hub (126mm) takes a regular skewer, and the front takes a 20mm through axle. Both hubs are drilled for 32 spokes. Designed for serious downhill use, they would also be at home on any dirt jump/street/freeride/trials bike, and would be ideal for anyone looking to upgrade to very high quality, high strength wheel set. Cheers Chris :P
