Ok, its kinda true, but how do I un egg it now lol?

It does say on SheldonBrown if you'd bothered to read it :P Basically just tighten the spokes around the egg. Not rocket science. It's easier if you have no tyre on though :P

Ok thanks guys its all bling now  :P

True in each and everyway within 1mm!! Yay my first wheel that I've built!

Does it matter if some spokes are only slightly not as tensioned as others? (If that makes sense)

Sam

well it does but not massivley i suppose.

:P" awaits tarty to say if its true or not :P"

righty tighty, lefty loosie

then do half turns where the bend is till its all good.

left side spokes pull the wheel left, right pulls right.

hey presto, quick true wheel

I always find it easier just to do the thumbs up thing. Right hand in :P position. Thumb shows direction of movement of nipple, fingers show direction to turn in. Sounds complicated, but when you're holding the spoke key if you're right handed like me it's super quick just to check, and a load easier on your brain than working out which way is which :P

Its only noticably looser on some spokes when you turn the nips, not when you squeeze the spokes.

Hmm. From some wheels I've done, that's not always a great way of working out tension, just because there might be some imperfection in the spoke/nipple so it'll bind instead of turning well and so on.

Since I've started doing wheels myself I've just totally stopped really caring about the fact that some of my spokes are looser than others. Used to really piss me off, but now I just know that that's the way it is, basically.
