poopipe
Is there such a thing? I hardly ever go near mud or grass (its mucky) so it seems silly to have knobbly tyres. The front is easy - I can get a bmx one but I cant find back ones fat enough anywhere.
Chicky
Maybe knobbly tyres are needed for backwheeling? You never know...
Lawnmowerman
Simple (Y)" You cant get slick mod tyres. The whole point of trials tires is for them to have grip, somehow i dont think a slick would be any good on rocks (Y)
Hiltop
no they are not, i love slick tyres. i have same problem trying to find them ended up using other people 'old' worn down ones. i never have any problems with grip in the dry and they role alot better. as for suggestions i havent got a clue sorry. that said they suck dick on a slippy wet log or anything natural , but as it is summer and you say that you only ride street there is nowt wrong . downhill_rob2@hotmail.com
Try and get grip on a rail with dust on your tyre, or just try and get grip on a rail with slick tyres....... Trials tyres are meant to have lots of nobbles so when you backwheel a wall of a funny angle, the nobbles grip the wall and keep it there. Sponge
I once wanted slick tyres for example Maxxis Hookworm... but then you find that even riding street, little bits of stone, broken twigs and little gravel on the ground... on the street... all this rips apart slick tyres... I have found that slick tyres get gashes on them and plus slick tyres don't grip for peanuts, its like running oil on your rims... Bald tyres tend to pinch easier from my experiences, yes they do roll better, but just feel wank for hopping around on, even in hot summer street.. Just get treaded tyres... poopipe
the general concensus is don't then.. shame - they'd look groovy. I always found them lovely on BMX - not too steady in the wet I'll grant but shedloads more grip in the dry - plus you didn't suddenly slide out if you got your bike tilted right over while doing exciting flatlandy tricks. However, since I can't buy them I won't.
RicH_87
yo, what about trying to bag one of those SUPER PHAT rear tyres you get on the contemporary choppers? I'll try and find a pic.... EDIT: kinda like this, but obviously not this HOOGE Edited August 2, 2005 by RicH_87
IOLO
i dont wanna seem like a big head,, BUT knobbles do NOT help street riding and nobbles DO NOT help grip on rails or other funny shapes.. and when i comes to rock,, again nothing gets the grip better than a slick,(not the dirt or grass in between rocks though!.) and ye,, as you cant get a 19" rear slick, i would get a second hand maxxis creepy crawler or try all and gently take the grinder 2 it.. then prehaps gat a mate to keep turning the cranks while you grind or sand it... (but having sed that i am a bigger bodger than most (Y)") dont know how long it would last either..!

poopipe
I want that black bike badly. I'm tempted to turn my old mod into a chopper when I get a new one. With some of those bigass doublecrown suspension forks off a DH bike and some bars like that gay schwinn with the fire on it. Motorbike tyres are a good idea - anybody know what size would fit a 20"(not 19") wheel ? I read somewhere they're measured differently
