after rounding my crank bolt off (driveside) whilst tightening it up :shifty:

im gonna have to get it off!!

ive tried drilling it to no avail, it just massacred all my drill bits and didnt get hardly anywere!!

i tried it from the side were the bolt is and i tried drilling out the threads of the bolt by drilling through the bb from the otherside!!

is there any other way of getting it out as i need it out asap!

help appreciated :D

sounds like youve mangled it, so araldite in an old allenkey, put a pole on the end and heave.

kettle full of water on it normally helps unsiese the welded thread, or some liquid wrench, WD40, anything that will lube it, cover it in it and let it soak in.

mole grips, hacksaw a slot in it and turn with a screwdriver (wont work if cranks in the way).

couple ideas to keep you going.

Damon, another idea is that you could get a hacksaw and sort of make a line in the crankbolt side, the bit that is supposed to touch the plastic washer... sever a line on that bit of crankbolt... *** a screwdriver in that line, and hammer...

This has worked for me on a loctited rounded Crankbolt and Disc rotor bolts... (Y)

Hope this helped :-

weld an old 8mm allen key to it and get it off that way.

trust me if its ISIS we have had a few of the Truvativ ones in particular (bolts & b/:D get stuck even on XC bikes (Y) :- and the best way is to weld an allen key to it and then get it off that way.

Waynio...................
