trialsguru
is anyone running the 16t middleburn bashring? are they anygood, has anyone worn out the chainring? can you still go to bashguard with one or does it not like it? has chain wear increased, chains breaking quicker? does the bashguard deflect things onto the downtube more with it being so small? tah
Al_Fel
I've had one for just over a year now and I love it. It dosnt really cover my KMC kool chain properly and it had to be worn in so the chain wouldn't skip but after all that its going great. I wouldn't advise using a split link I payed for that with an almost broken wrist. If you like going to bashguard on purpose don't bother with it. pashley pro
it really is hard to bash things with, i want to swap my ti bash for a normal one
Ali C
I had one for roughly a year, it was only slightly worn (on the teeth and bash) As long as you get a decent chain, breakage wount be much of an issue, but if your gonna be doing big gap drops and dangerouse stuff, I would feel safer with a bigger combo. going to bash is harder too
Luke Drewery
I have heard that because the chain is at such a tight angle the bash causes more frequent chain snappage, however i may consider getting one as i could do with saving a bit of weight, i currently run middleburn pro trials cranks with a red 22t bash, i could save a lot of weight by swapping to 16t, even though its a little expensive. trialsguru
hmm maybe i wont get one then, i was thinking about going 18t fixed cog on the front but it means buying new cranks bash and cog and still wont be much lighter
Nick Garland
Dont get one. I had one for over a year and I thought it was nice, but its soo small theres hardly anything to balance on, it doesnt grip due to small edge. The chain wear thing is true my chain has strecthed, you dont get as many gear ratio posibilities. Im now on a 20t lathed and its much better, have something to rest on and it grips, also its not much heavier. I wouldnt reccomend one from personal experience. Such
someone menitoned that ti bash couldnt protect kmc kool chain because it was too small in diameter? how serious is this? how long before front cog wears down and this doesnt happen anymore? @ali c I seem to miss something , but why is it safer to do big gap drops with bigger bash&cog? Ali C
because your chain is less likley to snap with bigger cogs, so its a peace of mind thing.
