RyanRs
I have built myself a few wheels in the past, but i am no way good at them... i can true a wheel truer than true its self, but when ever i build a wheel, it goes 'up&down' by a couple of mm..... how do you stop it from doing this? i go round all the spokes tightening them like 1/2 - 1 turn each untill they all have slight tension, then i go round with a spoke key slowly torquing them up, then ill true it into dish, and once its done, the bloody thing always bounces up n down a few mm.. ??? ARRRRG! it makes seting maguras up a rite pain in the ass! help? ................ adam? (hehe!)

Mark W
Should be just a case of tightening the spokes in the bit where it goes "up", if you get me? Just imagine it's a buckle, but in a different way :D So yeah, if it's "up" you need to pull it towards the hub, meaning tightening spokes? If it's a Try-All rim, they have a lovely habit of coming pre-egged, and being virtually impossible to get round again (Y)
munkee
look on sheldons site in the above link. Basically what you do is if there is a up bit, you tighten the spokes directly below it on BOTH sides. If it is directly over a spoke you tighten that one and then the two either side on the other side of it. Hard to explain but sheldon can describe it a lot better
