Simon
to all those people who have passed driving, basically i wondered on average how many lessons it takes till you get put for your test, i know its different for different people but just after a clue. Cheers ← 20 hours is the recommended, but you may be ready before that. I've just done 3 point turns after 6 lessons, so should be ready by my 20th, hopefully. Make sure you get the theory out of the way quick though.
Ingram
yer i passed my theory the other day, im on 6th lesson and did 3 point turns on my 5th, cheers for the help.
JTM
i think the recommended is actually 40hours................ I put in for mine after 15 ish lessons, but it was about 25 lessons by time i passed 3rd time, robbing bastards. I did 3 point turns 2nd lesson, so it swings and roundabouts. Get AS MUCH driving in as you physically can. Experience is the key And when you pass, the real learnign begins :)
Bendee
im coming close to my 20th lesson i think ive had 18 i passed my theory the other day and i will be booking my test asap. it realy depends on how fast you pick it up everyones different, my mate didnt have any lessons and he passed first time he just picked it up himself. Sameer
The official average is 2 hours for every year of age. So an 18 year old, for example, would average 36 hours of lessons. I've had about 14 so far. Passed the theory after like 5 lessons so that it's out of the way. Practical booked for late September, but I'll try and get cancellations nearer the time. Can't wait. 011001000110010101110010
42 hours is the national average. I had 23-25 I seem to remember.
that NBR dude
I had 10 lessons, 2 of those were 2 hour ones. I had already passed my motorbike test before hand, so I knew what to expect, and also had 2 years of road experience under my belt as well on bikes. trials_rocks
I did 23. I always did two 1hour lessons a week though, i found it helped because with less time inbetween each lesson, you can keep it rolling and not be all rusty after a week with no driving. Danny
Ive had 7 90minute lessons (2 a week) so far got my theory booked for 2 weeks time. I still havent done 3 point turns as my instructor leaves stuff like that to the very end. As ^ said and my instructor having 2 instead of 1 a week helps loads. Also i prefer my 90 minute lessons :)
tipsy Jock
I had millions, Started at xmas when i was 17 and passed in sept. Passed first time with only 2 minors though. My god that was 2 years ago :) i'm old! Pete

zoojames
I've had 11 so far, got my theory on friday, if I pass that I'll book me practical! After 11 lessons I've covered ALL my manouvers and got most dialed, 3pt turn and reversin round corners are fine, its just lining up and stuff on some others. I've been lucky and have picked driving up really quickly, its just my observations apparently.... I always know whats going on but meh! James :)
tank_rider
32 hour lessons, passed 1st time with 2 minors :) That was with no driving in between lessons.
CH!P
32 hour lessons ← They're long lessons :) Between 20 and 25 lessons for me I think. Passed 2nd time.

The enchanted broomstick
my instructor told me a soon as i pass my theory he is booking the test, i passed the theory no problemo last wednesday so he booked the test which is for 22nd september, so be prepared for a 2 month waiting period. Ive only had 5 lessons but he still booked it because of the waiting time and in the 2 month period i can fit in at least another 10 lessons if i need to. Talk to your driving instructor and whatever he decides will probably be the best option. stu :turned:
andyroo
I had 23 hours, but I got married, went on my honeymoon, and moved house three quarters if the way through, so i got a bit out if sync and had to catch up with about 5 more hours, totalling the
Prawny Baby
i think i had 7 or 9 hours of lessons, passed first time. but then again i have been driving sinse i was 10 :turned:" although in many ways, that was a bad thing! i covered all the manouvers in my first and 2nd lesson, and spent the next 5 trying to un learn the bad habits id picked up after 7 years of driving/racing minis! i also couldnt be bothered to wait for my test date, so got the first cancelation i could, and borrowed my girlfriends mums car. i was the only person in plymouth to take a test the day i passed, as all the others opted to cancel because it was snowing!!!
