Hi, Just recieved my welded acs freewheel and cranks in the post. I know about having to loctite normal freewheels onto the crankthreads. But I was wondering, 'because I have the welded version does it still mean I should? Or would it be rising it by not?

Cheers. Joe :S

why would you have to thread lock a freewheel onto a pair of cranks?????

you have to thread lock the lock ring on the back of the freewheel BUT deffinatly not onto the crank. it doesnt need it. just thread lock the lock ring on the back where the 2 little holes are and tighten it back up as tight as possible then your away. we have done it with many at work and they dont tend to come loose as often. we had one guys freewheel riding alot last a year!!!!

As said above, normaly the lockring is locktited, but as it's weleded you don't need to do this.

You definatly don't need to put locktite on the crank threds, and on the main threds of a freewheel, and they tighten when you ride, and they do get tight.

Just screw it on and go.

Yes i agree don't loctite your threads on crank for freewheel otherwise you will make a hard enough job harder getting it off again

the welded acs shouldn't loosen at all if it did the welds would crack first so look out for that
