RyanRs
my chris king rear hub very slightly rocks from side to side, like a old style wheel with loose bearings. any idea why and how you fix it?
David
Tighten the axel end cones with 2 5mm allen keys (one either side)

RyanRs
Kool, is this all the same technique, cos i have funbolts and stuff??
iatola says
Mr Tartridge is the Pro in the King Dept. Its just the allen key on the non drive side of the hub, undo and tighten the silver cover clockwise (the allen key provides nice leverage). Then retighten the bolt. I belive its an imperial allen key because Christopher King is American. This happens on new kings because the bearings are not pressed in all the way to start with because they are new. After a few rides the wobble comes. Tighten once and it should go if not do it again Trev

It's always worth checking your king's tight (not just by wobbling it), as if it is loose, it is more prone to skipping. :- Mike.
Mr Motivator
Use a T10 Torx key for the adjusting cone bolt, works a treat.
RyanRs
hum, well i have tightend it now, but it wernt quite how you described. i have fun bolts, and on the non drive side was a round screw in cap bit with a tiny little allen key that picnhes it tight, bout 1.5 mm big.. maby this was what you ment, but i got no 5mm allenkey holes on mine, its the bigger ss axel its got too. thanx anyway. Oh, any idea how much adam charges for a service on these? i only got it today, 2nd hand and id like to get it done, just so i no its all sparkling! The allen bolt you speak of is 3/32", which is a bit annoying really.
Luke Drewery
You need to tighten the end bolts as mentioned, dont ride it loose as that will knacker the internals. Send it to adam through tartybikes or whatever then get a full service, this will mean you are rididng a pristine hub and will save you money in the long run. :P

Use a T10 torx key to loosen off the little bolt and then hold the axle in one hand and tighten the 'round screw cap bit' with the other hand (dont do it too tight, just hand tight), then do the little bolt back up and your done. RyanRs
well i think get a hope xc ← Im fed up with hope hubs. they skip too offen, cos they get too much shit in them and the play between each engagement is too much. i have had 2 bulbs, and 2 xc's . i swaped an old DMR with z1 dropoffs that was just sittin in the garage collecting dust for the King iso , mint condition, with HD axel , SS cassette and funbolts, built onto a d521 ceramic (mint condition) with black DT spokes. and even with all the xtra hub parts, its still lighter than the hope. i love the king... and the noise of it!! coooor!
