have a D521 ceramic at mo, got hs33 brake. i usually use plazzies on a grind, but obviously you dont grind Ceramic rims.

also, what is the best rear 26" WIDE rim to get?? i want something like 48mm wide pref..

i have used the Onza hog rim for few months from new. and i dont really rate it, it was a bugger to true, didnt hold a grind for longer than 3 days, and i sware i flatspotted it doing a 7ft drop, that was smooth as soup... obviously with every bigger drop you are gona get a slight ammount of slap on the floor, but this WAS a smooth landing.

Im thinking V!Z 48mm with the hexagon cutouts??

Try the Plazmatic pads on the Ceramic rim - Many have good results.

The Onza Hog rim is made of similar if not the same material as the Viz/Koxx rims, so you're just gonna have to put up with the problems if you need the 47mm width.

Ronnie's/Alex/Echo rims are the only ones that are strong and hold grinds, and are a fairly decent width. They're 38mm.

I use Magura black on mind - I run a 521ceramic rear, x618 ceramic front. Its an awesome combo... not too grabby but it locks solid, backwheeled 4" over bar height yesterday and it held perfectly. If it doesnt work too well at first, let it bed in and get a bit dusty and stuff and it will be great.

Your grind didnt last on your hog due to the depth at which you did it. I gave mine the harshest i have ever seen, brand new grinding disc and just went for it. Taken out pieces id say 3mm deep maybe more. Its stayed good for 2 weeks now no trouble with hold and im runnin plaz pads. Great brake combo, has really restored my faith in the hog as a half decent rim.

The build may have something to do with it not being true? i f**ked up a 6ft drop after sweat on my grips caused me to land sat on the back wheel, loosened atleast 12 spokes to the point of being able to pull them around, but still spun and only very slightly out of true.

As for ceramics.. dont look at me, just a bit sceptical as to why the hog didnt meet your expectations.
