Dai the Socket
At college on the 30 computer network we can get 400kb/s at a constant rate so it can be done. Is 2.2Mb connection I think, might be more ← They'll most probably be on a 10mb line or such. And those tests are relative to how many people are using the service in your local area etc. The more people who are on, using their broadband line to it's full capacity, the less you'll get out of yours. It's 2.2mb when you're the only person using it. It keeps smaller and smaller at peak times etc. It'll most probably work out about 1.7mb. And got a 1mb line, it'll be 850-900kb/sec. tom e
I'm getting upgraded from 512 to 2mb very soon hopefully :}
RicH_87
I got my 2mb upgrade last year just before xmas i think. It was free but instead of having 1mb and unlimited usage we now have 2mb and a 30gb cap. However we haven't noticed the cap coming into play at all, even with 3 computers and an xbox on 24/7. Also we got £5 knocked off for 3 months, becasue we've been on bt for ages. My mate still hasn't got his upgrade, but sometimes when he connects he gets a reading of 8.8mbps or something crazy then it drops back down to his regular 512kbps. Trebor
1.6 Megabits - not too bad (Y) Yeah I came home after a couple of weeks to find I'd been upgraded, downloaded that 70 meg Graz vid in like 4 minutes!
