Hobnobs
Righty, im getting a wee bit annoyed with this. I've just moved my computer to my dads, and im trying to get it onto the network. I boshed the card in yesterday, and it worked, happiness. I come to turn it on this morning, and for some reason it doesnt work, the internet is on for the other computer, but not mine. So i checked to see the card was still in properly, turned the pc back on, and nothing. The monitor wont come on. So i take the network card out, boot it up, and wahey, the monitor works. Bosh the network card in, and again, no monitor. So i guess its something wrong with the network card, can i do anything to get it to work, or do i need a new one? Rich9804
Sounds broken to me mate (Y) Try another network card, see if that fixes the problem, if it does it was defineatrly the card :) -Rich
george_seamons
If you have another PCI slot free, try the card in that. Sometimes the card causes whats know as an IRQ conflcit. This means 2 devices are trying to communicate using the same channel, as it were. Just try moving the cards around inside the computer...but only the ones in the PCI slots. I've had the same thing happen with mine. I had my sound card installed, then went to install a network card, and it wouldn't work with the soundcard, but would without. I tried moving the soundcard to another slot, and it all worked fine (Y)
Hobnobs
I tried it in the other slots, still didnt work. I nicked one from a spare pc i have lying around and it worked in the same slot, so i guess it was just the card.
