Dan6061
Like it says in the title, I got a rather old (but good condition) Hope mini for the front FOR FREE! :) This is for my T-Pro, and I was wondering if anyone else uses one for the front of a Mod. What are they like? Cheers, :P Dan Edited July 14, 2005 by Dan6061

Danny
It depends how old it is really. Is it just one of the silver 2 piece caliper ones or is it one of the much older ones with the 'sport' lever?
Shaun H
If you got one with the new mini lever you should be *very* chuffed haha Out of interest what size rotor is it?
Dan6061
Its a silver one..can't really tell you much more as I know fook all 'bout them. I Think It's a 2002 one... And it has this lever: Is that what you mean Shaun H? I'll put up some pictures when I get home (at School at the moment ;) ) :shifty:
the_soon_to_be
you should be very happy as you got that free (5 finger discount, i bet really), they are really good strong brakes, better than the mono's anyway gaz
nb88
I had one and it was pretty immense :shifty: then i got some EBC green pads and they were a bit shoddy, and i ended up swapping it for a magura louise disc. But it rocked with the hope pads. I had a 185 rotor though so it was a bit beast.
Matt_Tupman
By free do you mean nicked ;)" that a wicked deal though if you can still get EBC reds for them then I highly recomend them :shifty: they seroiusly uprate the performance of the brake. Michael Hardman
I put my mini caliper on my bike a few weeks back then bled it, bedde din quick and it ad as much bite as the trial which is loads. Then it leaked so I hate it right now. Niceof hope to fix it for me of free when I send it off

Frenchman
Old style hope mini..... IMO the best and most reliable front disk available. I have had no problems with mine atall and have had it for 2 years. (Y) I recently overhauled it with a braided hope hose from tartybikes and a set of ebc red pads. Very stiff brake now and the power is awesome, i am running mine on my t-pro with the new echo team forks (cnc ones) so a similar setup and i love it to bits :) Your a lucky chap to have got one for free :P
011001000110010101110010
those brakes are the best! Me and wheeler have been running them on the front for 2 years, no change of pads, no bleed every done. (Y) You wont need a new front brake any time soon. Swize
Its free so ace !! And he could not set it up propperly ? Sam Ahh i just rember i had a go on Sam wheelers bike and i loved it was a really nice brake . Just make sure you set it up propperly (Y) Edited July 14, 2005 by samthebiker

Ashley Smith
that rotor does'nt look quite right? it looks like a rotoe designed for the old hope xc4 brake because the surface area for the braking surface on the old mini's was quite large, as they were wavy rotors, from which you could have names etc laser cut? it would probably work better with the correct rotor, which was either a 165mm or a 185mm ash
ScotchDave
I think that rotor is an aztec one. I suggest you buy an original mini rotor, they can be got from any hope supplier. I think the rrp is £22.

Get a wavy hope one and get Leeson to machine it for you (Y)
Dai the Socket
My avid pwns your Hope Mini. hehe. Not bad for free though, can't complain can you! If it slips and you die can you sue him though?
Dan6061
yeah it is an Aztec one, My mate who I got it off has like 3-4 other Rotors that I can swap my current one for...theyre round...that's about all I know (Y)
