Cheers. ← All is down to more practise...if you are doing 3, then, you are on the right tracks... One way to get the feel is to start with the rear wheel onto a big step...then, you can really feel when you are in balance on the front, or when you would be falling backward (the rear wheel supported on the step) Then , its all synchro from the arms pumping and the legs jumps
guy
Don't do it :P"
Brian Bleech
most likely is that you have got to get over the front end more, practise endo's and try to find the balance point. Which is steeper than you think. when hopping - pump your arms and legs. learn to fall over the front of the bike mike
RyanRs
if you can do 3, the lean slightly more over the bars, so you like hop 5 times and then go over the bars,, but all u do is drop your feet off the pedals, so it dont exactly hurt. then after a while, ull learn to control your balance, like backhops, and do more. to turn in front hops, you use the same technique as turnin in backhops Ry
downhill_rob2@hotmail.com
to turn in front hops, you use the same technique as turnin in backhops ← Its actually much harder, when your on the backwheel, you can turn the bars very slightly and hop and it makes you turn, but on the front wheel, you dont have the bars, and iv tryed to turn, and it hurts.... alot!!! :) You have to find the balance point (just before you go over the bars) and then bend your legs up (brining the bike up) then straighten your arms out. then hop (Y) I can do 43 then my arms get tired! i just think of my girlfrind when im doing it and it helps :P
Tony Harrison
Rich Johnson used to do about 200 in a row....
Dan6061
*apparently* it's best to habe your head in-line/over the front hub, then your balance is centered. This is just what a mate told me though, I've had a few goes, but can only do 2 (on a good attempt :"> ) (Y)
011001000110010101110010
Have no fear about possibly falling on your face. 90% of the time it will not happen, you can always get your legs down over the top tube to stop yourself. SQuiT-man
The key to it is in having the CONFIDENCE to be right at (or even tiny bit past at times, before you adjust it with a hop) the balance point. I think the best way to learn is to endo facing down a slight angle, a pavement which slopes down into the road is perfect, then start hopping, but once you can get to about 4 or so, start adjusting your techique by trying to front hop forwards, as backwards seems to come almost naturally once you have got that dialled. By the way when hopping forwards you tend to just place the front wheel forwards as you hop by pushing the bars forwards with your arms, however going hopping backwards you use your legs by pulling the back of the bike in towards your body, and the front of your bike pivots back around oyur body in the air. Hope that made sense

(got on film) best front hop i can say i ever done, was on some shitty cheap bike, with NO wheels at all. i did 11 front hops on the forks!! I always used to stop when I felt I got to the balance point for fear of falling, but once i thought "sod it", I stayed on and did about 7 more  Im currently learning this too :P My record is 12 lol
downhill_rob2@hotmail.com
I was just doing some yesterday, i dont about 20 and then i started to turn the bars ever so slightly and i started to turn (Y) (Y) :- :D
toxicturky
yeah pretty much agree with everybody else, for small adjustments use arms and for larger ones the legs, all down to practice realy, kill headsets/ forks but makes you more confident about going over the front, put in a 180° turn to fronthops and hop backwards is easy and looks cool if you do it over a drop then "helicopter " off Mark.
