hi i'm using some ruffians grips and i dont like wearing gloves. but my hands hurt so much and i have huge dead skin lump things on them. i was wondering if any of you know of any good grips to get wihout gloves that wont hurt so much.

and my cassette exploded today. all the pins fell out, spacers everything. i dunno what cassette to get because i want a good one. because i dont know of any they all look the same to me. :"> and i may get some new pedals but i dont know what to get i have some dmr v8 but i think i want a change to something a little better. may just stick with them though. and one last thing i want a new helmet i want something along the lines of the giro e2 i think thats it. i dont like the giro zen. but i dont have a clue what helmets are good.

thanks for all the help. much appreciated guys

Beau  :P (N)

The "Dead skin lumps" are probably just callouses, which everyone who rides a bike for any length of time will get. If you're new to riding, your hands will probably cane a bit, but you'll get used to it :P

You f**king slacker

OK, here's the deal: Imagine Ruffian grips. Now, imagine them a little tiny bit thinner. Now, imagine them with a super soft compound. That's right - soft enough so they don't even hurt when they break in, they just feel lovely right from the get-go. Now, imagine that that compound also happens to be super durable. Yep, they're uber soft, but mine have lasted for 2 months or so with no signs of wear*. Now, imagine them being a tiny bit thicker than Monty foam grips.

That's how good they are (N)

*Mark's Grip Life-o-Meter:

Monty Foams: Tore in a day

Ruffians: 3 weeks

Azonic/O'Neal grips: Wore them smooth after not so long, plus they were a bit too thick

Random foam grips: 2 hours

etc.

I just seem to tear grips :P I've gone through my Demolition grips in less than 2 weeks

Er, just use google?  I bought them from a local motocross shop, so I don't know about online retaillers...

£6.85 from there.  Don't know what they're like, don't really care either...

The post above your's reveals all ;)

(Y)that is very confusing. do you have the very soft grips, what texture and pattern is it. thanks for the help :D :P

Full diamond, in "soft", which has lasted for bloody ages, to be fair...

try some try-all foam grips put them over ur present grip and they wont slip there grippy in the wet and dry

and have lasted well into the second month

For the helmet may i suggest the specialised chamonix mine's survived two nasty dents from hitting my taps to low and they are relatively cheap

i am riding with foam grips; they are really soft to the hand and dont slip, i used to have calasis on my hand, but they have gone down since i got my foam grips, disadvantages are they can be ruined really easily or tear if they hang of the bars. they sometimes slide if they are wet but this can be stopped by putting some tape arond them.

when i had odi ruffians i found them really hard and didn't like them so i would not reccomend them.
