Luke_bradley
Is it possible to have 2 cogs on the back of a bike and just a tensioner?? so i could change from a softer gear to a harder gear for riding myself. Has anyone done this?and how would you do this?
Endohopper
Sure , it's possible . Pretty good idea really , one gear for getting around and one suited to trials use . I've seen it done by someone who runs a conventional derailleur , and a tensioner should work just fine too , as long as you carry the neccesary tools to make the adjustments . What you'd need to do is simply strip a cassette , then replace the relevant cogs on the body using spacers to make up the excess space , being careful to ensure a good chainline for the trials gear . Let us know how you get on .

froggy
Yeah I have with a surley singulator. Just use the 2 rings you want with cassette spacers between them. All you have to do is move the adjustment arm. The only problem is you want a decent tentioned riding gear, so when you change into a lower gear the chain comes off quite often but that would depend on the diffrent between the 2 gears. Don't go to low and it should be Ok. Edited July 10, 2005 by Adamm

D-L-B
sounds like too much farting around to be honest. Shifter, derailleur, 6 speed cassette, off you go. Dan
