Luke Drewery
Hi, i got my t-rex frame yesterday ater switching from a koxx levelboss. I have the internal headset, its the cane creek zero stack two headset but i am having problems fitting it together properly. In this Picture The bottom cup with a chamfer that sits on the fork seems to have the right angle to fit in the bearing. When i put mine together in the exact order shown on this picture there is a gap at the bottom near my fork crown and i cant understand why, its really frustrating. This means that my headset has play and doesnt turn properly. Anyone else had this problem?
Bionic Balls
does the crown race sit properly on the fork? IE: flat.... if not- file :) are the cups in all the way? there really isn't much that can be wrong...just "flatness" really adam
Luke Drewery
Everything is perfectly flat and in good shape, but its as if there is a part missing but i have every part from the picture. The bottom bearings chamfered edge is different to that of the crown race so it wont tighten onto it properly. For now i am running the headset without the crown race so the bearing is located on the fork directly, thats the only way it will fit together without a gap... :)
ScotchDave
Are the two bearings top and bottom the same, and should they be?
Luke Drewery
The top and bottom bearings are identical so no problem there, any suggestions from people ho own t-rex frames or have had one?
tank_rider
Have you got the bearings in the right way up? I think they have to go in a certain way up else you get the problems you describe (its been a while since i put mine together now)
Luke Drewery
The bearings are both the right way up and everything is in just as it should be, i have took it apart and put it back together and it seems to be fine now but i shall see tomorrow when i go for a ride again...
