Back Breaker...

yea I am glad i didn't fall on a rail.

I pulled the brake but it didn't lock beacuse as i found out later the right hand brake piston thing was loose even though the bolts were tight. I think the threads are damged in the frame or something. Manufacturers deffect I reckon.

I landed on my cockix (sp) and hurt it a bit and my neck hurts. Apart from that i feel ok and very lucky that i didn't seriously injure my self.  :)

Glad you're ok dude! All that money and they cant even tap threads properly? Who did you get the bike off? Select or Tarty? Doesn't matter which one, im sure they will be super cool about sorting a replacement out!

Yeah right! Manufactures have a tendany to do that! When I got my BT I had to retap the BB and the brake mounts! Flippin poor!!

He could just re tap it or helicoil it instead of de building his frame just for the sake of the threads!?

Rob :)

I done this the other day, caused by my SECOND rimjam blue breaking, this time the whole backing broke in half and the pad flew off after a really big gap, i only took off my bandages today and have some nice puss-weaping wounds on my elbows!

But I used to have this happen to me all the time until I invested in a brake with really decent lock (although obviously I shouldnt have got quite so cheap brake pads!), causing permanent spinal injuries as of about two years ago from a series of similar accidents I had where I looped out onto my back. One was so bad that I couldnt move for 15 mins or barely breathe, and was stuck out in the forest on my own on a dark night, I thought my back was broken but luckily after a bit I managed to get up and make my way to a mates house :shifty:

I'm running zoo pads on my mod and blue rim jams on my stock. I have to say the rim jams seem to bite better than the zoo pads.

Haven't had any problems with the backing's so far though. :shifty:

You should have some other 4-bolt clamps to try out now, should have arrived anyway, the threads should be fine they seemed to tighten up quite nicely, if you find there is a problem with the threads at any time, you can always send it back and I can fix them. Any more troubles with it, let me know.

Phil.
