MikeWarner
I need to get some new cranks, possilby Middleburn trials cranks. I'm not sure what length to go for. I use 175mm on the XC bike, but I;m thinking of 170mm for the trials bike. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
Tomm
There's very little difference really. Longer cranks make the gearing slightly easier, but that's about it. I'd probably go for 170mm for that tiny bit of extra clearance.
rich4130
170 seconded. Middleburns are also good to get 2nd hand, they last forever, just make sure the tapers/threads are good, which you know already I bet.. I say get square taper, unless you snap lots of BB axels, in which case get ISIS.
Ross W.
you might get a little more power from 175's, but you won't notice if you've never run 170's. 170's will have more clearance. I recently switched from 175's to 170's, and I'm liking it much better.
