MadManMike
A SHE went voluntairly(SP)? My good god. ← I know a lot of ladies that like Max Power actually. My g/f and two of my colleagues enjoy cars...
andyroo
I dont have a problem with the speed or performance, I just think that Evo looks like a little toy plastic car made by Corgi or something. Preference I suppose, nothing I can do about that. I would much prefer the TVR anyday. If the Evo went past one way and the Sagaris the other, which one would most people look at? I really do think it would be the Sagaris, because it just looks nuts. And like someone else said, why squeeze so much power out of the 2 litre engine, as it makes it very unreliable and potentially dangerous. You might as well safely squeeze the power out of a bigger engine. I mean TVR's are unreliable when it comes to electrics (they are getting better though!) but having an unreliable engine would just be crap. And also, if you were to drive that thing on a humid day, or in a dusty place, it wouldnt work. It would just choke itself. That would be crap too, wouldn't it? You can have so much more for your money!
MadManMike
EVO's are a girls car, fact. don't try and argue, any man that drives an evo is a fag. thought i'd provide some real eye candy for the thread. (Y) ← LOL Evo's are girls cars... then you post an escort... The old skool ford is nice, but no, the new Essexcorts are just nasty.
JTM
there hasnt been a NEW escort for a good few years now lol The escos is no way a gurls car lol. The evo is a girls car cos its more computer than engine, the escos is DEFO a engine car. And all from a relatively normal looking escort aswell. It set a trend all over the world with the whale tail spoiler and the fact that joe-public could now afford to go fast. They are amazing cars woich love to be tuned. Few actually stay standard anymore and most sit around 300-400bp mark. 4wd is FAST and they handle amazingly aswell apparently. Sorry I got the wrong figures for the reyland but i was basically there. Still a ferrari/lambo/pretty much any other exotic supercar beater. And then he went and wrapped it at gumball (Y) Devastation I actually like the evo, in black, in standard form. Think it looks pretty evil and you could close your eyes doing 100mph at a 90 degree corner and the car would drive itself around there no problem lol. Amazing piece of engineering

Amazing piece of engineering ← Now would that make driving more fun, or would it take the fun away? Cars that drive themselves surely take some of the fun away that can be had by smaller slower cars, like an Elise or something. You see when people test cars to the limit, they like to take off the traction control because they want the driving experience and not to be nannied round every corner. JTM
Lol I know! I was merely stating how basically intelligent the evo is. Your right, It can be looked at 2 ways. Experienece drivers and testers turn all that off as it probably hinders them. But If a normal driver wants to see how far they can go safely then they will aid them? Does anyone else think like this: I cant stand "cruises" and all that shit and doing handbrake turns to impress your mates in car parks. BUT im very curious as to what happens when I do this.....or that.....Or dump the clutch here or shift down here. If you get me? I want to learn about the handling of cars and how they react etc. I dont wanna show off or anything Im just intrested. Ive been on my own a few times at night etc and it been raining and Ive gone to a deserted road or something and have just drove round slowly, only in 1st and 2nd gear just seeing what happens at different points of rpm and such. I dunno how to explain it. Obviously im not showing off or any of that crap cos im on my own in a deserted place and I ASSURE you there was no danger seeing as this was a huge area and I was in a small part of it with nothing around me. Some people may say im a tit, oh well
andyroo
...im a tit, oh well ← I know what you mean, just in me own little car I like to see where the powerbands are, what revs give you the best performance, and theres nothing like dropping into thrid at 50-60 mph to hear the revs fly up and then go whizzing past someone whos going slower than you! Like I said, I prefer the drive to the techno maintenance side of it, but i still think that evo is ugly Im happy now cos my new car is turbocharged! :D (Y) EDIT: And I am showing off :o Edited July 5, 2005 by andyroo

Has anyone seen my shoe?
also how many people who could afford a car like that are actually going to waste money on something that looks boy racerish to f**k, i think more would buy a merc an audi or a tvr... i know where my money would be going if had enough cash and it sure as hell wouldn't be a bodykitted evo pumping out a rediculous amount of horsepower.... it would be one of these ← The sagaris has to be one of the best styled cars ive ever seen. Theres no way anyone whos intrested at all in cars (and I mean real cars, not plastic) cannot find this irresisable: ← You realise that if you actually drive that car you will die. Its a gorgeous car but have you ever been in a tvr? Once you do you'll realise that it the back end whips like a dominatrix with a billionaire customer. If the car doesnt kill you the tree you hit when your on the way home will. The cars are nuts, absoloutly wired. Edited July 6, 2005 by Has anyone seen my shoe? You just have to be more gentle, and then it will still whip everything else. Its just that it has waaay more power than it needs

The thing is unlike any other car it is mental and doesnt seem to transfer the power its got to the road properly. That said i'd probably still get one. BONGO
you don't drive a tvr like you drive a fiesta. drive it how it's intended and it's a beast. like any other car, drive it how it's meant to be driven and you'll get the most out of it. john

The thing is unlike any other car it is mental and doesnt seem to transfer the power its got to the road properly. That said i'd probably still get one. ← Your right, the power transerred to wheels to the floor via a poor driver will result in wheelspins and fishtailing and whatnot, handling like anyother powerful car that has its traction control off. Someone who wants to race a car but is not too well trained would leave the traction control on, giving them more speed with less of their input, but a true racing driver would turn it off, letting them be entirely in control of the car. So with the TVR, even though it has more torque and bhp per tonne than a Lambo Murcielago, you need to be really in control because it has no computer assistance. And Bongo, I didn't mean drive it like an arthritic old lady, I meant, where in a less powerful, traction controlled car, you can get away with putting your foot flat down round a corner, and a computer will deal with it, you need to caress it round the corner, giving it the most power it can handle without spinning off, rather than just stamping onto the throttle. Many years of racing games and watching top gear has led me to this information :P
