JT!
Just a quicky, which are the best pedals these days, price dosn't matter. Looking at the DMR V 12. (Y)" Heard only good things about them. Anything else I should consider. By the way, i use my pedals, very BUI. So anything magnesium would be out the window I think. Ta ducks. JT!
What about these? ← Yeah, i was looking at them, but thought they wouldn't support my feet very well. How do they compare to the DMR 12's for weight and strength? Etc. Onza shindigs, super nice platform and great grip, cant fault them at all ← Unseald bearings, and arn't very serviceable, and heavy. Lawnmowerman
I havent actually got them :"> But i think they have to be the nicest looking pedals ever! If your not sure just get v12s they're proven to be brilliant pedals so i dont think you can go wrong (Y)
Mark W
I've got my X-Pedals, and they properly do it for me. Light, grippy, swish. Job's a good 'un. Plus, they cost less and weigh less than the mag/ti V12's (or whatever the crap the material is DMR thought they'd make them out of...). Seriously worth a look. JT!
VP's (Y) can't go wrong johal ← Yes you can, they are crap IMO. The cage is way to low, therefor your foot is on the metal bit, not the cage. Therefor your foot slips off and it scrapes the shit out of your leg. (Y) Edited July 3, 2005 by JT! Tomm
You might as well just get V8s/V8 copies, because by the sounds of it you'll rag the pedal body to pieces before you wear the bearings out. Unless you get the mag/ti ones, I don't think there's much weight difference either. Or get some Wellgo v12 copies for like £20...
UrbanPoet
Azonic A-Frames are the best pedals I've ever owned, smooth as fook and grippy to match. If I had the cash I'd buy another set. And personally, I'd never touch a pair of V8's again, bearings seem to go too quickly. They are classics though...

So as for destoying the body i wouldn't think that will happen for a long time as it fine now. Just the paint has flaked off.
Chris Cook
Go for some v12's. I use them on my other bike and they are smooth as. ANd grippy ! But i still think VP's are good for the price if you take care of them (Y)

JIX
I say go for the v12 mag's, they are fine for biu bashing and as every body has said light, grippy, strong, sealed bearings. I do bash my ones a bit and in a year there is only 1 pin missing!!!!!! And they still spin smooth as marco hosel's riding. Although JT you could just get the vp's and cover them in tar, then you will have a light grippy pedal for £15 (Y) Edited July 3, 2005 by JIX
EcHoMoNsTeR
id recomend v12's. they are the best pedal i have ever used. ive had my current set for ages and they are still mint. if youre not worried about the bearings, go for immitations. just dont buy VP's. they are sh*t. (Y)"
MikeWarner
I just bought the V12 mags - look superb and are the perfect shape to get decent grip. The shape is similar to the early '90s DX pedals and the GT pedals - but much lighter. All pins are replacable as are the bearings.

Even so V8s are also good I have had mine for about a year now and then are still working fine (fingers crossed). They will probly break now I have said that. Caleb
I love my v12's and there on offer at crc atm for around £30. Also the azonic x pedals look and sound great just a tad pricey. Then theres the wellgo mags on supercycles for £13 which will last you a good year or to. V'8s same as the v12 but bearings wont last as many years but for trials in most cases the pins die before the bearings either way. id go for a pair or wellgo v 12's for like £20 very smooth very strong very grippy pretty cheap and light id never go for vps as they look weak and the screws always fall out or the cages get mullered etc.
TrashZen
OK, V12 are good looking (Y) , but I reckon they tend to loose their screw bits, like these (ok it can take a few years, but still) then, you end up with ultra slippery pedals. But the regular, proven monty type cage pedals (although they look dull) are grippier and more reliable. A nice large grippy cage for plenty of room (Y) , you don't want a X shaped pedal to screw your soles... (Y)
Tomm
OK, V12 are good looking (Y) , but I reckon they tend to loose their screw bits, like these ← Thing is that those have been ragged loads - You can see that all the paint has come off, and there's only a couple of pins missing. My Hognesiums still have most of the paint, but the pins fall out really easily. I might get some V12s when the hogs die. But are the mag ones as strong as the normal steel ones? JT!
Also the azonic x pedals look and sound great just a tad pricey. ← Money dosn't metter really. So it's between the azonic x and v 12's Have the azonic x's got all the replacement parts like the v 12's have?
Chris Cook
I think you should defo go for the V12's. They x's dont have as much space on the pedal but the v12 does also you can always buy replacement pins for a coupple of quid from stiff sports or CRC ! V12's all the way (Y) (Y) (Y) :S :P

Unseald bearings, and arn't very serviceable, and heavy. ← Unsealed bearings are more easily serviced than sealed, all you do is pop off the endcap, undo the nuts and then take all the bearings out clean em, clean inside the pedal, re grease with a good grease and put it all back together. Piece of piss, you could even fix you ddgs for a couple of quid.
