PaRtZ
OK I've got some new spokes + nipples and im building my wheel. As far as I know I've built it fine (4 cross pattern) only now that I've come to true it it looks like the picture below (only obviously round, not a straight rim Basically every 2 nipples are proud of the rim, while the following 2 are "normal" Im lacing up a tryall rim with a profile hub. Help please, should I take it apart and start again or try to true it anyway? Thanks
AdamR28
Get some tension in there, that will sort it out  Same amount of turns on each spoke.
PaRtZ
hmm im tightented the proud nipples and the spoke thread is already at the top of the nipple
AdamR28
Spokes are too long then, unfortunately. What lengths and rim have you got? Rear 36H Profile Mini Cassette yeah?
PaRtZ
yeah thts the one. but its too long because i managed to build it successfully before 175mm spokes. im now using
AdamR28
165mm is waayy short for 4x. You need around 180. What exactly have you got? Spokes (length): Rim (model, holes): And how are you trying to build it? (4 cross i presume?) Any pictures? Adam

AdamR28
Hmm... check on your spoke lengths... 165mm wont work well for any combination of crossings
PaRtZ
i have built it though. it looks like 2 cross because the lengths are short. i followed gsports guide perfectly  im tensioning it now. its getting there but it might be slightly off to one sdide
