ScotchDave
Go buy a pin spanner, unscrew old back plate, unscrew pedal, will take old insert with it, clamp old insert in vice, remove pedal, place new insert on pedal douse in strong loctite, put back in, put loctite on back plate, do up back plate, leave for 12 hours til loc tite sets. Sorted. EDIT Spellage Edited June 27, 2005 by div

Bionic Balls
if the old insert won't come out....you're unlikely to strip the threads in your crank, so....leave it! (Y) i would anyways....the lockring on the back is to stop the pedal unscrewing with the insert attached to it (i think)..but it doesn't seem to work..... vice it...like div said (if you want to get it off a pedal)...but don't mess about if you don't need to! adam
