As the title says i've just bought myself a lovely Sun doublewide but would like to make it a little lighter (Y)

I'm gona grind a braking surface onto it and the i would like to drill some hols in it but not sure how big to go? I was thinking about 25mm holes?

if anyone has any advice or any pictures of drilled doublewides that would be great.

cheers

i saw a double wide that was tripple drilled, there was a big hole between the spokes and then smaller ones outside of the spoke holes...

drill holes in the sidewall  :D

Humm I was thinking about doing that, it's a pretty burly rime so I think it will be strong enough but it's also a pretty expensive rim (Y)" so I don't want to trash it

I'll have no pads left if I drill the sidewall :P

I have drilled 29mm holes in mine, got the weight down to 730g.

Also, strip the paint, they are powder coated, I saved 50g just by doing that and its really shiny now :P

Humm intresting (Y)

got any pics of the rime Ali and is it still alive :D"

I'm still not convinced about the drilled sidewall i've never seen them done on a breaking surface only on disk wheels.

the wheels not finnished being built yet, I am pretty confident it will be strong enough, these rims are tanks!

I wouldnt drill the sidewall.

My old double wide had 104 holes in it, one inbetween each spoke then 4 either side of it. I still works, but its got a few flat spots.

I forgot how good these rims actually are! I am loving mine, I seriously reccomend it to everyone!

I ground it last week, its still nice and sharp, I have been riding in the rain a lot these last few days and the back break is still working mint!

I also suffered a lot front dents on "normal" rims, I have boshed this rim sooo hard, but not a scratch!

I am never gonna use a koxx rim again.
