How Good Are Crecsents?

they're very good frames. prett short. light, a bit flexy.

they're hard to come by, especially in good condition.. it's very hard to find one that isn't cracked and rewelded, and if you buy one, you'll probably be third or fourth owner of it.

we don't know what condition it is in. you have to ask him.

Haha, I wouldn't, he probably doesnt know himself, although his late wifes godfather probably was the first to produce aluminium to make bike frames...

It's had dents filled in the downtube, search for previous topics on it if you are serious, be careful. ;)

Is Pete a good mate?

Why do people fill dents? It's rather like painting over rust. The problem is still there, why pretend it isn't. Seems too many people are more worried about how their bike looks than how it rides.

Paul Thomson used to ride a Crescent and I think he was pleased with it. Yeah, quite short by todays standards (1030ish). Hawzee had one too didn't he.

LMAO!!!!

if there ever was a true opinion on these frames if you weigh over 8 stone dont buy one....................

they are way too light and someone says flexy???? flexy due to them being stupid light and literally ...... happy.

to keep your front line of teeth buy something that is stronger and more durable.

the likes of Kleivard (such a silky smooth rider) doesnt break them as he knows what he is doing, he wont batter the frames as much as most people on here will.

Waynio.........................

have you actually ridden a crescent ilions for a longer period of time?

they're actually really durable. flexy does not mean snap-happy (as you said about u6).

mine broke, but then again, it was three or four years old, ridden by at least two people. Gurra has ridden his ilions for THREE years now, and the previous owner ragged the frame t'fook, and it's still intact. It's the 2000 model, which means 4 1/2 years old now, and still not a crack!

Kleivard breaks his frames too.. A lot of them. Just 'cos he's smooth doesn't mean he puts loads of pressure in the frame. And for the record, Kleivard rides the french C frame now, with Kleivard stickers. :D

For the average rider though, they're perfectly fine. They're not as snap happy as the Echo frames of the same generation, even though the Crescent is lighter. It's the perfect BIU comp frame.
