trialbiking
Hi all, I am after some soft grips, so my hands don't burn after every ride. Which one's do you recommend, e.g. monty foam grips etc. Give us your opinion on the best ones. cheers adam

Mark W
Found I had the same problem. I wanted thin grips which didn't tear the shit out of my hands, but actually lasted longer than 3 seconds. Off Road Only in town had some Renthal grips in, so I gave them ago. Two words: Freakin' Awesome. They're the best grips I've ever had. Pretty thin, but comfy (Ruffian-style diamond pattern), and are really soft but are lasting stupid well  Really don't get how they haven't torn yet... Anyway, they're the Renthal ATV grips (the Motox ones have a stupid right side one, but the ATV's have a thumb throttle so they're just grips, basically). Really worth getting  Not too sure where from, but offroadonly.com or something would probably work. Mark W
Eeeeeeeeeeer... Kinda hard to say by looking at the pic, but yeah, look to be the same. Try getting soft though, they've lasted over 2 months with no visible sign of wear, but are beautifully comfy. Oh, and this "no wear" is coming from Mr. "I wore to the plastic core of my Lock-On Ruffians in less than 3 weeks", who is also Mr. "I have the most abrasive hands in the world" Chicks dig 'em. Tomm
Marky, do those grips cover the end of the bar? I love my old Ruffians which did, and then I got some new ones which don't, and they slide inwards ALL THE TIME
Mark W
They certainly do, Mr. Tomm.
spunkey_monkey_boy
all of the north wales lads ride on specialized durango's but i'm hearing good things about the new toxsin grips, just waiting for mine to come in and then i'll put a full review up
Mark W
Are the Toxsin grips the same as all the other "company" grips, e.g. Viz, Try-All, etc.? I did try looking on the Toxsin UK website. http://www.toxsin.co.uk I'm pretty sure I could've blinfolded someone, tied them up, put them in a locked box, and left them in a darkened room with a computer with no keyboard or mouse and they could've designed a better website. Actually, 'designed' is taking it a bit far. "True Taiwan technologies developed from the underground." *stifles laugh* Mark EDIT: Google'd Toxsin Grips instead of just Toxsin, got linked to T-F, and found some pics in the gallery. Basically, they're just Ruffian/Renthal grips, with the mould on the piss.
spunkey_monkey_boy
no the toxsin grips are actually different from all other grips i've ever seen. this is only going from the piccy i've seen but imagine a set of rogues had it off with a set of durango's and you ended up with a hybrid of the two. some blocks and some little pimples, looks really nice to use and i can't wait to get them on my bike because the durango's although good really dont last at all!!! if you want any more info on them speak to adam (shop@merseytrial) and he should be able to give you the lowdown on them
Mark W
Again, doesn't look like they were made like that as an amazing design, more just for looks. Maybe I'm just a cynic though  Anyway, unless they're under £6.99, I'll still go for the Renthals eeeeeeeevery time...
spunkey_monkey_boy
they could well be the ones, the last pic i saw wasn't nearly as close up as that one... i believe i'm right in saying if you buy them off adam you get change from a fiver!!!
