Vasil
Hello people, i was wondering would a 2.5 tire fit onto the rear my saracen mad 04with a d521 rim on the rear , just asking so i dont waste my money. :shifty: thanks. snowy ← Hey mate I live in Romania and never seen saracen mad..only on the net..but if with my last frame which was an xc one (I made trials with that...my first frame :shifty: ) I used a 2.5 maxxis (with a not so wide rim I think like rhyno lite) then I think will not be any problem with a trials frame...good luck
Burton
i reckon it would fit, but since you have such a wide tyre on such a narrow rim, it is more likely to try and rip itself off. Soooo, unless you get a new rim a 2.35 would ride just fine, it wouldnt squrim, it'd be lighter :shifty:" and just overall be better. i can see no advantages of using a 2.5 tyre on a really narrow rim. Just my opinion
Trebor
I don't think I've ever seen a wide tire actually pop off a thinner (i.e. D521 rim) you're more than likely to get tire foldage but the tire itself should stay pretty firm to the rim, but it depends on the tire pressue that you run. TomN
No you won't as my mate had a white Saracen and he bought a White Tiger which was a 2.5 and he tried to fit it but it rubbed so he wasted £25. 2.3 i think is the biggest you can fit. yoyoyo
It might fit but if it does it will fold if you catch it when twisting
TomN
Forgot to mention it was on a D521 rim aswell. Ask around who has a bald 2.5 tyre and try it.
BI-KING
I had a 2.5 hot s in mine, it fit fine (Y) Edited June 18, 2005 by BI-KING
rich4130
What tyre is it? I guess a maxxis (It should be!!)if so.. Get someone with that tyre and rim, and get them to measure it, if it comes out at less than the distance between your chain/seatstays at the point where the tyre would be, your sorted. I've known of some silly WTB tyre on a Koxx rim (Y) fit ok tyre wise.
