rich4130
Just got my hub off smithy, all fine, just trying to replace the bearings in the freehub, and I have got stuck. According to a mbuk magazine, to remove the bearings, you simply give them a good smack with with a screwdriver/hammer, from the pawl end of the freehub, I looked at it and though hmm yea makes sense, gave it a few taps, nothing happening, had a feeling this may have been wrong, went on hopes site, got the instructions, all good, went to tried moving the spacer in between the bearings to one side, by hitting it at an angle with a small screwdriver, so I could knock out the lockring end bearing. As you can guess, 'cos I've tried knocking out the bearings the 'mbuk' way, the spacer (11 on the diagram) is well stuck between the bearings.. So won't come out with the small screwdriver method. The only way I can see, is drilling a small hole in the freehub, and pushing it out with an via that..? Can anybody help..? Long post for a simple problem... rich.
