Mr Motivator
Iv downloaded 3 dvd software thingys and none of them have been any good. Basically I have a dvd (one I have out together and NOT pirate so doesnt have a write protect on) and I want to get chapter 1 and 2 off it so that I can watch it on my pc and edit it and stuff. So is there a suitable program for this? I've tried DVD decrypter, Easy DVD shrink, and annother but cant remember (might have been dvd rip) So yeah, any help obliged. Simon
Go here, its the best site for DVD ripping and encoding. I can assure you, that you will not find a better source on the interweb. Be warned, decent ripping can take up to 18 hours depending on the DVD, DVD drive and CPU power.

Simon
DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 I actually don't know much about this, but thats the one my friend said to use. Read the guide, has some good information for people new to ripping.

Mr Motivator
Cheers guys, I used DVD Ripper SE in the end and it converted it to a .mpeg  Sam
Simon
Yeah, its a long process. You need to rip the VOB's, which is what would of been on your computer, but you then need to convert them after that to a watchable format. Theres a few that do it direct, but if i remember rightly, its not recommended.
tank_rider
I use smartripper to get the Vob and ifo files onto my hard drive then DVDx to convert them to the desired format. Dependant on the length of the film, the required output file size and your computer, it can take between 2 and 10 hours using the divx codec on slowest setting.
