nb88
Thinking of putting my rb lever into a magura body as i dont really like the feel of the body and im convinced its leaking at the seal.... so - to anyone whos done it before - do you file the lever down and then put the little gold-coloured circular things back in? or leave them off? Cheers. Noz.
Punkrider
Hi there, yeah i have done this not long a go, all you need is a file, add me to MSN if you need any help (Y) Adam
James_Porter
just make sure you file the actual rb lever blade and not the maggie body, otherwise the maggie body will peel/break off. then you just put it into the body like normal. thats all you need to know... Mark W
You can get spare R.B. lever seals from http://www.heatsinkpads.com if you want to give it another try, maybe? Before you file the lever down, leastways, in case you want to go back?
nb88
I've got some heatsink seals but i just dont like the rb body in general really...ive started filing but im just not sure about the removable gold things....but im guessing you just put them in as normal. thanks noz. Mark W
Is this "gold things" shiz to do with the RB, or to do with the regular HS33 body?
James_Porter
Is this "gold things" shiz to do with the RB, or to do with the regular HS33 body? ← just the rb's. i didnt use them when i put the rb blade in the maggie body and it worked fine for a good year or something so its fine. Mark W
Fair enough. The lever blade's longer, isn't it? So does it give more power in a nice way, or is it just sponge-tastic?
nb88
Working now...just needs a bleed Another problem though - the part of the lever near the piston is wider than a standard magura one, so when i pull the lever it stops dead about an inch before it hits the bar due to it hitting the cylinder bit. I'm guessing everyone had this problem...tis rather gay but ill just have to have my brake bite further out.
Mark W
Er, Jon Fisher thought that too, meaning his brake didn't bite sometimes. To give an idea of what happens when this happens, you should try and get a copy of the video of him manualling down a rock at Bracken Rocks to loop out to savage back smash. Ho-rrific. Could you not file it, or d'you mean the actual wee piston bit that goes into the HS33 body cylinder?

Theres also a hell of a lot of lever that is just 'nothing' - where the lever just hasnt reached the cylinder bit yet... and its not the bleed as i tried a normal magura lever and its fine. I can still use my rb lever though i think - i put the gold things back into the lever and so it still fits in the RB body. The bodge hasnt seemed to work at all  bit shit in general, lol... so weird going back to a solid brake too! Might just keep the ol' magura on..... Joe Papasnap Maher
my rb went on fine. love it to bits :(

tank_rider
i did this about a year ago now, and mine is still working fine. I filled the lever blade and the gold bushes so it all fits in the mag body. In terms of the lever not pulling to the bar, a small amount of choice filling should allow it to get pretty close without any problems.
