They nicked that from a documentary I watched at school 2 years ago about disease.

Well, they probably didn't... but it's a nice coincidence.

depends if they mean alive people... but then it wouldnt make a difference because the total of alive and dead people would still be the same as the total that ever lived ... unless people died in space and stayed there... but i dont think thats happened?

but on a serious note thats about as true as my foot being the ruler of mars.

unless of course theyre saying that at any given point in history there arent as many there are now ... because there's never been above 6,000,000 until recently.

but the total amount of people ever over the complete history of the earth greatly outweighs our present total..
