Tartridge
Ha, says the man whos king in the 'Pads' video sounded like an F1 car. How did you get it that loud? :) Put in 2 springs? lol ← I'd rather have it work properly, than be quiet and not work properly (Y) That wasn't my hub anyway... mine was louder. tank_rider
i'm not bethered about how loud mine is (although mine is pretty loud at the moment) so long as it works properly and doesnt skip.
Simon
I would completly love a silent hub, this is why when i got my hope back, i left the grease in it, as it made it really quiet. Paying the price for that now though. :) If anyone invents a silent hub, that works, i will be first in line. :S Don't get me wrong, i like hearing my hub is working, or not as the case may be at the moment, but i would prefer a silent hub, that also works. Its like my brakes, i would so much prefer a silent brake that works, to a loud one that does. Meh, i'm subtituting my bike being quiet to sound smooth, as i can't be smooth for shit. Brian Bleech
My old old ashton was probably the quietest bike in exsistance, it didn't make a sound. As for hubs, meh, as long as it works I don't care how loud it is really. My king is pretty quiet, but its fine and works great. i think its just because its so old. N.Wood
I prefere a nice loud hub... My old Hope was VERY loud, but i didn't really like it, got annoying after a while. Then i snapped the axle, raped the ratchet etc. so off to Hope it went, left the grease in there, didn't touch it. That was great, was fairly quiet but gradually became a bit louder, and it's great now. It's on my DH bike so it sounds good when it spins in the air (Y) My King is pretty fecking loud at the moment, which i like. Gets a bit annoying going down hills though. Mid-gap though, it sounds awesome.

I only wish leaving the grease in my hope didn't kill it, otherwise i would of put more in to make it quiet. :)

Dai the Socket
My profile's mediumish. Not as loud as my friend's Hope Bulb though. I don't really mind. I like the reassurance of a hub you can hear though :)
