Ingram
Hello, I just build my new wheel (Hope Bulb 20mm on Sun Double Track) Anyway, i put it in my trueing stand to do it (After lacing it) spin the wheel and theres a noise as though there is a spoke nipple inside the rim. I know its not a spoke nipple becasue sometimes it wont do it others it will, ive shook the wheel countless times and its not a spoke nipple, anyone have any ideas?! (maybe one for Tart ) Thanks in advanced, Jake
Tartridge
Bit of weld, bit of swarf... could be loads of things. Put the valve hole at the bottom of the wheel, and drop it on the ground continuously (from a height of a couple of centimetres). That should get it out. Ingram
ok theres this bit of metal in the rim, at the weld it moves back and forwards  a big bit! I THINK its tehre to strenghten the weld but i dunno, it shouldn't move (Y)
Luke Rainbird
You mean it's pinned I'm guessing, and the pin is what you can see from what I am picturing, photos? Will look to see if the DoubleTrack is welded and pinned, as I'm not 100% sure, but would imagine that this is it. As for why it's doing that, I couldn't say, but it must either have been hit hard and damaged or its faulty. Get on the blower to Sun if this is the case
Luke Rainbird
OK as far as I picked up from a few sites the Double Track is pinned, not welded, so guessing that's what you are seeing Not sure how though, either when you were building it or when it's been knocked or something I would guess, but if you haven't done anything to affect it like this then talk to someone at Sun mate
