Lawnmowerman
thats pretty decent :P just keep practicing and you should be able to reach 8ft (N)
rocktrials
static???
Mark W
However long the gap you're trying to do is? There's no "good" distance to gap. Some people can do it further than others in the same way as some people can do ____ better than other people 'cos they spend more time practising it? Lawnmowerman
ive done nearly 8ft static from about 2 foot up so yeah :P

JT!
Thats what you want to be aiming for, can't really get much bigger. :P" I can do just under 6ft, (i think that 2m) somewhat easy, static, no drop. Mark W
I can do just under 6ft, (i think that 2m) ← 180cm.
chrishayton
i did 8ft 3inches static flat to flat on pallents in my garden. neil tunnicliff has done 9ft 6inch though :P
JT!
180cm. ← :P Well i'll have to get practicing. (N)
Rob_P
But neil tunnicliff is unhuman :P I can do about 6ft and a bit I think! I normally judge a gap on how much bigger it is than my bike! I can gap a bit longer than my bike so its a good way to judge! Rob (N)
Mark W
:P Well i'll have to get practicing. :- ← Why's that? I just meant it 6ft = 180cm... or have I just heinously confused myself? Anyway, I just specifically set out to gap better, and refined my technique more so I properly launch it. Got a lot more distance and confidence with it now (N)
JT!
Why's that? I just meant it 6ft = 180cm... or have I just heinously confused myself? ← No, i just want to be able to say i can gap 2 meters. :P
dave33
8foot is what u want to be going for, takes alot of practice to get over 9 foot but it can be done :P keep up the good work
N.Wood
I can do 7' (flat to flat, railway sleeper to railway sleeper) pretty much every time. I can do 7.5' in the same conditions a small amount of the time. Keep up the good work, you'll progress and get bigger and bigger :P BTW, how would that gap up there by the ZOO! rider compare to the likes of Hermance/Ros/Belaey etc.? Mark W
You can call that "ZOO! rider" 'Neil', if you want. Or 'Tunni' if you think you're his friend :P
N.Wood
I could do, i choose not to :P
colly
done a 8.5 ft gap with a 1ft step down from a stack of pallets which i had to land on a 30 degree angle, it took me a few goes and my forks didnt like it.

tank_rider
i think about 6ft seems to be the standard people want to get to minimum these days. Although it all depends what you like doing. I'm pretty gap hapy so can do a bit bigger, but its all down to personal preferance and ability. You will get better you will just need to practice. Finding the best technique for you is a good idea, just try loads of different take off positions etc and see which makes you fly furthest :P
Andy Vox
I can do 7 foot on a normal day or 7 and a half foot if im having a good day. I could gap between two pallets all day long i love doing it. I usually use my bike to measure them too, apart from mine is mega long so i get confused from my giant that i used to have to my bt. lol ah well! mad_gavo
I can do about 6 and a half foot at best. However i was messing about yesterday gapping and found a little thing that helped me to gap further. That was to take off at a slight angle and swing the front across as you gap (hard to explain really (Y) ) anyway i think it helps you to throw your weight accross. Also as mentioned earlier what are the likes of hermance and co gapping now days?
