Chainring/sprocket Ratios...

I am curently running 22th on the front with 19th on the rear and 175mm cranks. Basically I want to only run 4 sprockets on the rear with spacers in between them but on my cassette the only two sprockets which are connected are the 18th and 19th! So If i run 20th on the front what will, roughly, be the correlating rear sprocket so that it as similar as possbile (if not exactly then a little harder) to 22th front/19th rear?

and will running a kmc wide chain be possible if i put some washers either side of the jockey wheel on the rear mech? - 3/32 chains aren't exactly reassuring to ride with.. <_<

17t rear <_< Its as close as you'll get, and it is a tiny bit harder.

As for the mech - thats exactly what to do. You'll need slightly longer bolts too. The thread on them is M5.

so wheres the best place to get these longer bolts from and some alu spacers? (i have to have alu because its an aluminium hub body.

Bolts - Local bolt supplier.

The spacers need to go between the cage and jockey wheel on your rear mech... so the freehub body material doesn't make any difference.

All you need is 8 M5 washers, once again - bolt supplier <_<

Aah... I see now, sorry!

You can rip an old cassette apart and use the spacers from there. Theres three long pins that hold them together usually, 2.5mm allen key head.

Cheap cassettes have plastic ones, expensive ones use aluminium spacers... so no worries there <_<
