Mr Motivator
Locktite Superglue, prior to sanding down and dampening.

Yes, you should feel bad  I think Ill stick to some nice Profesionaly made Pads, and not some that someone has made in their shed.............. The Dude
Locktite Superglue, prior to sanding down and dampening. ← ill be surprised if that sticks for more than 20 seconds. nowt wrong with making pads (not that ive done it) just USE ARALDITE! your brain thats going to be on the floor at the end of the day
joe b
Locktite Superglue, prior to sanding down and dampening. ← Uh oh!
Tartridge
Superglue works better if you have a good fit. Use Araldite if you've made them shoddily and need to fill up gaps. Overall, a better fit and superglue, is much better. Whats the idea behind wetting (I did read that right?) them before gluing, Sam?
Luke Drewery
Its a cool idea, but what was your inspiration to try it? How would 3 layers of pad benefit braking? From what you have said they dont work very well...
Mr Motivator
Whats the idea behind wetting (I did read that right?) them before gluing, Sam? ← Superglue works by absorbing the water in the things it is sticking. Thats why is works especialy well on fingers.
Tartridge
Correct. However, you cant get water INTO rubber by wetting it. All it will do is cure on the surface of the material, leaving a weaker bond.
Mr Motivator
Sanded the surfaces to make them porous.
Tartridge
... for about a depth of half a micron, lol. Seriously, it's better to do it dry... It should be ok though. I wonder what the moisture content of skin is... *google time* Edit: For skin to feel soft, pliable and "normal," its top layer must contain a minimum of 10% water — and ideally between 20% and 35%. Crikey, thats high! If you do get glue on your hands, or stick them together, just go to bed - the natural oils in your skin break the glue down in under 24 hours usually. Top Tip! Also: ' The surfaces to be bonded should be dry, clean and free from oil grease. The use of Permaclean II or other organic solvents such as acetone or Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK) is recommended. Persistent contamination should be removed by abrasion prior to degreasing.' Dry is better <_<

forteh
superglue is not really a good idea due to it not being waterproof once set <_<
Tartridge
Its a pretty good really, better than araldite: Admittedly, thats not date for bog standard superglue, but its pretty close.
