Seen the moderating logs recently?  Or the list in my PM Inbox of all the stuff I've done for people, e.g. closing threads/moving stuff/looking at dodgy posts, all that stuff?  Like I've said countless times to other people, if you have a problem with me being a moderator talk to Tom and Danny

Threds that need to be closed, get closed, threds that need to be moved get moved. The moderation on this forum is fine!

If someone thinks it isn't, explain. (Y)

Well even if you were (which you arn't) it's not going to effect the modderation of the forum. :S

I think 20 or so of the worst new members should be made moderators for a day, see what happens. (Y)

Actually I think that would be quite a good idea. Make a log of whoever is in pre members and new members that join. Get rid of mods and sm's (leave admin here of course) and just let it run loose for a week or two. Record the whole event and keep it somewhere for people to see what happens. Then but pre-members and any new members back in to where they belong (for now). Put mods and SM's back in.

If this is possilbe I reckon it would be quite a good idea to show people what would happen. Might be a bit of a task but it would be worth it I think. Would be a shed load of work.

I'm not expecting anyone to agree with me, just I think that idea should be taken a little further.

The most interesting thing about trials-forum is the senior member community. Anyone agree?

I used to come on here to talk about tyres, grips and backhops. Nowadays I get distracted by watching the rest of us mere mortals compete to become a senior member. It can be quite entertaining.

We can talk about other people in the community, right..? Just don't be rude.

Here's three names to get people talking for now:

- Mike Singleton

- Joe Maher

- Nic Shephard

Do comment on my post if you feel the need.

i personaly think its wrong to group people....but hay..

I was once a senior member but one day I had my power revoked!

I was never told why but I expect it was due to my hatred of Bill!! I saw the error of my ways there!

It was nice having a SM forum and stuff where only intellegent people posted and people with mature views.

Fancy taking me back boys? (Y)

edit: I was just thinking...I have been on this forum since it began just about and I still have less posts than people who joined last year. It just shows how many people must post irrelevant info. I only try to post when I am saying something helpful and so should everyone else, don't just post for the hell of it!

Bill for example he posted so bloody much. Then someone decided (not sure if was tom-danny or a senior member stopped the chit chat area adding to the post count) it worked. Bill more or less died out and since the post count has been removed you hardly ever see him, he's rare.

The reason you don't see Bill around here is because he no longer rides trials, he's gone on to Freeride, not because Admin stopped posts in chit-chat adding to the post count...

Sm's are generally chosen due to them having a certain level of maturity in their posts and having contributed well towards the forum (ie, being as helpful as they can, not flaming people at every chance etc). Doesn't necessarily mean we are better or that we know more than everyone else. I think the idea is a good one, it gives members something to aim for (if they are that way inclined) and promotes good posting.

Being an SM is cool, being able to attach images to posts, delete your own posts, it just makes the forum easier to use. There certainly isn't a real hierachy though, just that SM's use the forum in a little more of a mature way, regardless of whether they're a trials newbie or fountain of knowledge (not including Chit-Chat) (Y)"

And we're all the same kinda people at the end of the day, it's not as though we get treated differently from other members. (Do we?) If you go on a ride you'd never be able to tell who is an SM and who isn't.

And there certainly isn't much competing, otherwise this forum'd be a lot less hectic with arguments and wannabe mods.

Fair enough. I don't look at every thread, so make like Man On A Mission and PM the shit out of me if you think I've over-looked something...

Me, (Y)  oh my god, thats some funny shizzle, ....how could i be a senior member,

1) i use text talk

2) i cant spell

3) i post #### :(

This guy has got the right idea :-

May I ask why your bike is plastered in tartybikes stickers?

I intended this topic to be a discussion about other forum members.

...I don't think there's any real issue, from what I can tell.  The SM's just help out Danny/Tom with the design of the forum and other suggestions like that, and help mods/admin out by pointing out posts that need work...

Mark

Before anyone else posts to have a go at me, I am not against the senior member system. I am all for it.

Royal Trials you don't half turn up with some rubbish.

Like others have said if we didn't have a heirachy here it would just be a mess. So what if someone wants to become a senior member anyway? ...so why not attempt at being just that little bit more.

The senior members have helped this forum no end. I was here 3 years ago...

Just found this.

http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....topic=39495&hl=

Your bitching about members trying to become senior members, but here your incouraging them? Bit of a contradiction on your part.

Mr. Kyle, I agree with everything you say. This post wasn't having a go at the SM system in place here. It was merely started to get people talking, have a bit of a gossip. I was also here three years ago. I was banned temporarily for slating Kloe Penman's tactics. She started a topic "Sponcer Me!!!" or something. That pissed me off. On that note, where's Martin Fricker these days?

No one has mentioned Fatmike really. This guy deserves to be a senior member, he never posts shite and is obviously intelligent.

At least this topic took off more than the North/South divide one I posted last week. I didn't even bother replying to that. This has at least got some people talking.

I think Ad's topics are acctually rather more interesting, although you'd think he was trying to be an sm wouldn't you :-"

I think the whole SM idea is really good, BUT I also believe that the whole useful post idea is a bit hard to figure out. I mean at some point everyones going to put a post like "Mega vid mate :D keep em coming" or something, its a forum what else are people supposed to put? I wouldn't like an essay each reply... but then again if you look at most of the senior members posts they seem to be a lot more intellectual than most of ours, all though people like monkeyseemonkeydoo and Royaltrials posts tend to be extremely useful and interested.

Meh what ever I just like pink names!
