ian
hi i am thinking of getting a hope mono trial, when looking on tartybikes.com where i am more than likely to buy it form was wondering is it worth paying £10 more to get the bigger rotor size. and is there any difference in power or anything else between the two and has anybody used either or them. thanks ian
CurtisRider
bigger disc everytime!!! unless you ride a mod and are about 6 stone.... bigger discs are well worth the extra money, you wont regret it (Y)
Stanners
Definatly get the bigger roter. It not only looks better but they work absolutly mint. Plus you don't have to set it up every other day so it works good.Cough~magura~cough (Y) :D :D

hugh_b
I have a 160 on my monotrial and it is better than my fully bedded in magura marta by a long way. I have only ridden up and down the road and it's all ready better (Y) -Hugh
Burton
Go for the 180 rotor..the 160 un felt like it lacked power, grab and hold.
ScotchDave
I know that theres some people on here who weigh as much as me (13 stone) and use a 160 perfectly happily, however I got a 180, cos I felt my lard arse would need it. :D (Y) In other words, if yer heavy get a 180, if not save the 20 or so grams and get a 160. However a bigger disc will require less power from the rider (marginally) so maybe it would be better to go for that to lessen arm pump if you have trouble with it. :D
ian
what do you mean by then end bit of your reply 'div'? bit confussed.
Tom-ass
bigger disc = more leverage therefore, your braking is better with the same amount of finger squeeze its an amazing disc brake and the 160 is perfectly sufficient, however, you can get a 180 for only 10 quid more, so why not??? tom
ScotchDave
Tom got it on one. (Y)
mehukatti
is the weight difference between 160 and 180 only 20 grams?
Tartridge
50g. 408g for the 160, 458g for the 180mm version. Thats for a front, full length hose, and all mounting hardware.
