Dmr Axles..

hi all,

i snapped the axle in my rear dmr revolver the other week and it's been in the bike shop for 2 weeks now. They got the new axle from dmr but the only problem is that they have put in an axle without the allen bolt threads inside.

I have no QR skewers lying around at home and i preffered the allen key bolts anyway. Should i just get a decent skewer like a hope or something or take it back to the shop? only thing is i don't want to wait another 2 weeks for them to put a new axle in, or will they have a tool to put a thread into it?

Take it to an engineer and get it tapped out :P  You can get the fun bolts from tartybikes if you need them

I've already got the bolts for it, they came with the hub originally. Should i have to pay to sort out this mistake? wouldn't taking it to an engineer cost a bit?

the shop could probably sort you out...but just get these from here...or somewhere local

and you can sort it yourself. I assume it is m6 x 1mm since most other hub axles (bolt on) use that (apart from profile and king).

maybe someone else knows? seriously...your friend's dad probably has the right tap is his garage (or something...)

ask around.

Get down to B&Q, and get yourself a tap and die set :P

Then you can tap all sorts of things, like golf balls :D :D

Ha ha ha ha ha. (Y) .Yeah well you could buy it from argos for 20 english pounds or yeah just take it to an enginnering spot. But they always seem hiden away down some back alley. :D
