Will Arnold
thats right, because everyone who works in every halfords store are two faced arse holes. surely its just unlucky that your store is full of them? nearly all the people in the bangor store are sound, and its a bloody good laugh most of the time... ta Will

(will excluded :P )
Apollo13
Halfords is Shit, Ive been waiting for my Magura for two weeks, when they said it would be 3 days! I better get it back! Nick
fairy elephants
All the guys in the waterlooville (my local) branch seem pretty sound. They all no what they'r doing, infact I often go there to get my front brake cable changed ( because andy p does it, and does a damn good job... oh, and i'm lazy >_< )
Mark W
I think a lot of it really does just come down to the staff. I'd say a local bike shop (i.e. not Halfords) would've been a better place to work, just because people looking for a job would see Halfords more just as a "shop" than as a "bike shop". Saying that, I'm looking for a bike shop job in the future, and moving away from home, so I might go to them. It's hard to say though, it's all a bit undecided. I've been working in our local bike shop for the past year and a half and it's been great, apart from the fact that I'm the only one in on Saturdays, so I have to open up, run it, then lock up all on my own which gets a bit weak. Saying that, my friends all come in and hang around so it's a pretty cool job, really :) But yeah, I've been to some Halfords where it's been shit and some where it's been top banana, so it's just down to the location and staff I guess. I wouldn't tar them all with the same brush, in the same way I've been to shit LBS's and decent ones. Mark
matthewholdsworth
is danny holroyd still working at halfords?? it all depends on the people working there as to how good the bike work is. we get lots in to our shop that are badly put together, but not as many as we get from those shopping tv channels. as for the work place behaviour it happens everywhere, from top level merchant banks to halfords, part of life im sorry to say Halfords is Shit, Ive been waiting for my Magura for two weeks, when they said it would be 3 days! I better get it back! that may not be halfords, its more likely to be the importer for magura if it was broken, if its just a bleed then its shoddy
Dai the Socket
After 2 weeks of working there, i'm so sick that im handing my notice in right now. Too many two faced arse holes :) . ← Hahaha. I'm so like that. I work on Sundays and if I was working with people who were fun, like Simon (who works on a Saturday) then it'd all be fun and games, but I'm not. I'm working with Pete who's the manager and leaves me to run ALL of bikehut on my own. Or becky, who's the kids zone person who's a fanny. It's really crap 'cos I'm expected to build up the bikes that are needed, sell bikes, check customers are alright, then get stuff from the back like packaged sales and loads of people usually want the bikes at that moment in time, and i'll have to take one off the shop floor and PDI it there and then, or they'll complain to the manager. It pisses me off loads. I wish I could work Saturdays too, because I'm used to going biking on Sunday's now, and I haven't been riding properly since the last Sheffield ride. Which I had to skive off work for. It annoys me Lots! Grr. It's not worth the pay neither. Also, they don't give you holiday time. I've got English Lit and Physical Edution (full course) on Wedneday AM and PM, and I'm working Tuesday night 5-8, which I can't get out of. :)
