JT!
After having numerous problems with my headset (Cane Creek ZS2), braking bearings, and that little plastic ring sort of splitting :P . I noticed that my headset cups have about a <1mm gap. :D Big enough to get my fingernail in. They were origingaly put in by Super Cycles. I only realy noticed this when I looked at my mates t-pro, and they are perfectly flush, no gap what so ever. Could this be the reason of all my bother, and how can i get them in flush, will a vice do? Thanks.
Endohopper
The fault may not lie with the headset itself , but the frame's headtube . Get it correctly faced , ensuring a snug , parralel fit .
Bionic Balls
are you sure it is the cups...and not just the bearing races sitting slightly proud? is it top and bottom? is your crown race on properly? i went out to take a pic of mine (pitch black...so i'm not surprised it is a bit blurry!) hopefully you can see it..but there is a small gap in mine too (under where it says cane creek), and everyone else's that i've seen. if it is tight..doesn't wobble and isn't rough, i wouldnt worry at all adam
JT!
Got a bit lost in the terminology... I'm talking about the two metal things that much into the frame, thats where the gap is. It could well be normal, as i'm sure supercycles would have done it proporly. Yes i can sort of see a gap, mine are probably ok, i was just cheaking. I know for a fact the bearings are fooked. And that thin washer type thing, well theres only half of it left. I think i'm going to buy a new one, just getting sick of trying to replace little individual bits. :P Edited May 21, 2005 by JT! Bionic Balls
well me and steve put the cups in ourselves with a rubber mallet....it is soo easy since it is "internal" (i think..) so the cups are kinda tapered into place.. adam

CBProductions
I doubt they had put it in properly as I had the same problem with my t-pro. Just get the headtube refaced then grease it up and ensure its installed using a press not a BMF of a hammer!! :P Craig
Tomm
What? :D ← They creak because they're shit. Hence the nickname Cane Creak. And hammers are fine if you don't f**k it up :P
Dan6061
That happened with me aswell...with my T-Bird and now my T-pro. It works so i'm not too bothered with it. :P

Bionic Balls
a headset press....but if you take your time, you won't notice the difference. seriously, unless it is really bad, and makes your headset feel rough on one side (crunchy noise!), then i'd just leave it alone. get us a pic and we can check what you mean... adam

The things are in stright, but with a gap, which aparetly is common. >_<
