gilly
Ok yesterday my new koxx mod stem arrived, and it seems that ive go the new design... The top cap is now slopey like the monty one, but most intrigingly of all, there are now two holes in it! :( Koxx Top cap Can anyone think of a reason why they have done this? Matt_Tupman
It's been out quite a while and there proberly did it for the same reason that Monty did it :( so you have to buy both the stem and top cap but I can't see any gain from it. Tomm
Save weight? Make it look interesting? It looks quite nice I suppose, can't really see any problems. Maybe if you have a steel steerer, and you go riding on a rainy day :(
Nick Garland
Surley things will just fall down the gap and create a mess in your steerer tube. If you have a steel steerer then surley when it rained all the water would go down the tube and rust it. I'll stick with my normal stems and topcaps. zoojames
Did you have to cut your steerer to put that on? Thats the only thing that puts me off of stuff like that, if you cut your steerer then you could be boned if you wanted a different stem and don't have any more space! Caleb
Nah the steerer stays flat at the top and the stem sits on the same just the top of the stem is sloped with a special top cap so the bolt still goes into the steerer straight :(
gilly
No i didnt have to cut the steerer, it went on normally Also because the tube on the stem was longer i was able to take out a spacer and have the stem lower than my onza one
Gandalf the Yellow
Surley things will just fall down the gap and create a mess in your steerer tube. ← ha ha, what can possibly fall into that small little gap?... (Y) and even if something small did go in...i presume he has a starnut which will stop the 'things' messing with the steerer?....there's hardly any space inside between the cap, and the nut. steve
Bucky
I think its so they can have a larger diameter stem without having to have a mega long steerer.: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y13/BIKET...opedstemcap.jpg
