Jonno
First off, congrats on this topic, EXTREMELY helpful, both my wrists click on every rotation without fail, iv torn the ligerments in my left ankle but went to hospital for it(around a year or more ago), but then fell off a rock and landed on it hard about a month and a half ago, so that put me out of riding for a good few weeks, back now, however sometimes when im walking along it just gives up on me and i just go over on it, any idea's? hazzyhaslam
I broke my elbow back in january. I can straighten it fully but when i hold it straight it hurts and if i turn my wrist away from my body or all the way round with my arm still straight the pain can be immense. I broke the nobly bit on the inside of my elbow and thats where the pain seems to be mainly!
onza t-bird
joe, more likely a scaphoid fracture that they didnt pick up from the initial xray, its common to miss them, but it easier to fracture your wrist than to sprain it, spraining a wrist is pretty hard! the bones in the wrist dont like being stressed like that and something goes, usually th bone. if its the scaphoid then you have to go back and get ti checked again. the scaphiod can affect the blood circulation to the bone and therefore cause it to shrink and give you major major long term probs i really suggest you go back to your gp, get an xray referral from them and then see if you have a scaphoid fracture, if so then this long after they may be able to cast it up and get it to set straight, if you dont get it sorted then a guy that got referred to me 1 year after a missed scaphoid fracture couldnt move his wrist more than 5deg up and down and has had to have lot and lots of physio to get his wrist going again, itll never be the same again moral go get another xray, if you cant be arsed to do it that way round, go to a&e and say you did it that day and exaggerate the pain, theyll see it looks f**ked, it'll hurt in the right places and they send you off for xray, itll showbetter on this xray as the calcification of the break will show up more on the xray where its been trying to heal dont tell anyone that you did it that long ago as a&e dont see any injuries more than 24 hours old!!! si ← Hi thanks yeah I've broken my scaphoid before on the same wrist so would that have made it weaker? And I will go back to A&E tomorrow, Thanks a lot Joe :P Edited May 21, 2005 by onza t-bird

Bondy
Wow, very helpful topic :D I know its mainly ankle as youve said in the title, but basically i have 'inpingement'(sp?) in both of my shoulders :P which is a total pain, ive had it since the 21st of January this year from playing rugby, from then until now ive spent atleast half the time just resting it, it felt good after a while, then i started playing rugby again and when i get tackled hard or tackle someone hard it hurts like hell! and feels as though something gets dislodged or feel something being pulled it just generally hurts. I've only seen a pyshio once in that time since january which was a few weeks ago, and i wont see him again for a couple of weeks, hes given me a couple of simple excercises to do 3 times a day, but will these really help heal my shoulder? and would you by any chance have any idea of how long it will take to heal, as i play for my town rugby team and i dont want to play in matches if im going to do myself even more damage. The pyshio said i could play but if it does it again then i cant play for atleast 4 weeks, but after it first happened i rested it for about 2months and it didnt get any better. Any ideas/suggestions thanks alot :D EDIT: also i forgot to mention, i even forgot to mention to the psyhio im seeing, when i was a baby i had a disease/infection called 'osteomyeletis' it was something that ate away the bone i think and i had it in my left shoulder which is originally where my shoulder hurts the most, would it have anything to do with causing my shoulders to be weak? I would really appreciate some feedback :D just really curious as to this injury as its very strange edit edit: ok thanks alot for the post :D no worry's it is getting late now :D so dont really expect you to sit up and make a post for me :deej: , im off to bed anyway getting late for me *yawns* Edited May 21, 2005 by Bondy

Olly C
same thing, hyperextension of the ligaments and tendons unless you've had sprains or fratured wrists then its somthing to look at to strengthen them up they get lose and cant hold the joint together as well mate ← I've got that, my wrists were really bad, In the end they got very loose and cartilage and stuff had torn and made it all "fluffy" in the joint making it hurt any time I moved it. This was the case for a good few years while seeking treatment. I had to do both my GCSE's and A-Levels on computers because I couldn't write more than one paragraph due to the way writing caused my wrists to ache to the point on pain that meant I just couldn't push myself to do it. Where as typing was a different motion that allowed me to do it constantly for a much better amount of time at pretty much the same speed if not faster than what I can ever remeber writing. Anyway I had to have keyhole surgery in my writing wrist and it helped the pain alot, I cant write all that well but I can manage and stuff in everyday life, prefer not to do essays and stuff with it though, but it was definately worth sorting.
